NVC Filers - February 2018

Hey guys, I have a question. 
I already paid my fees and recently just gave my financial and all other documents to my lawyer today. She is sending my package to NVC by next week.. 

My question is that is it okay if I filed my taxes as single for 2017? My lawyer made me do this, she said its okay because my husband doesn't have a social security number or anything since he's not here. I'm feeling a little uneasy about this.. so please let me know guys if its okay? I don't want this to be a problem :/

Also:  I have a joint sponsor with my dad.. since I only work part-time and am a full-time student as well...

Another question: How long does it take after you send in everything to NVC? What are the next steps.

I have a question . I got thr cc fir my husbands case and now waiting for an interview  date. But the lease of my  apartment is ending and i will have to move to an other address. How do i change the address on the forms and let them know to send the green card on my new address. Im just worried if i notify them ritenow they might take longer to give me an interview date.

As far as i know. You can mention or your husband can mention the new address at the time of immigration when he is travelling to USA. You can tell them at that time to send the green card on the specified address.

Hey guys I'm so excited! I got approved yesterday, I'm gonna call on Monday to get verbal confirmation from an agent. This was really quick

Your husband will need to update the address at POE. However, be prepared that the card could still go to the old address. We updated the address when I arrived in December 2016. We also completed the online address change the next day to be certain. But the GC was still sent in February 2017 to the old address. Fortunately our niece lives at that address and she forwarded the GC to me.

No, I sent everything by mail. I'm afraid I don't know what a pivot case is. I didn't get an email or anything.

We finally received a case number last night via email. It took six weeks from received date at NVC. Ours was a pivot case. @kubes @truelove29 Just wanted to update y’all. Hope you guys got yours.

yeaaahhhh congratulations. I'm so happy for you. Yes I got it last Friday and paid the same day. I was able to submit everything on the 22nd. everything on the same time

We had SD February 5th and i just realized that at says "At NVC", must have changed yesterday as well. Yay! Gonna call on Monday to confirm too

its very simple. were u married dec 31 2017? if yes, u MUST file taxes as married. if ur husband doesnt have ssn u can get him itin and do jointly or do separate and take exemption and if u dont want him to get itin do separate without exemption. if u were married dec 31 2017 and filed as single then thats wrong and ive heard visa people flagging those cases for fraud because they think why are they telling us theyre married and to irs telling theyre single and red flag it.

Same here mu iv bill opened up yesterday. So i paid by yesterday.
