Just called and confirmed, its indeed Closed and they said that I am inline now for an interview and should call back next week to see if I am scheduled!. Another wait, but thankfully the hard part is over lol

Poor guys.... It's like they're being punished for their three day weekend.  But yeah I suspect that Jamaica doesn't have as rigorous embassy scheduling as say Mexico would for instance.  I am optimistic about that, and for mine too, since my consulate is in Egypt.  Hopefully 2-3 weeks?

That's what I thought, they are really getting it today! lol

Wow! called NVC today to get to the bottom of the Japanese Police report check list, apparently it's just to "remind me" to bring it to my wife's background check to her interview when its scheduled. I guess I was CC on the 14th of Feb. So I was a scan date of Jan 23. That's three weeks and 1 day. Good luck to all! so now, how often should I  call to check for an interview date?

Congrats!! I am happy it wasn't a checklist. We are not sure about how long it will take, guess we just have to call every week or every couple of days.

How long does it normally take  for nvc to receive cases? And how long for case number? Please

2 to 3 weeks to receive, and then 10 to 15 days for a case #.

But it varies,

11/17/2016: Got engaged
11/28/2016: I-130 sent to Chicago IL lock box
01/12/2016: NOA1

I hope I am posting in the correct place.

How is the scan date determined and what exactly is it?

I phoned the NVC earlier and they said that they received my I-864/AOS documents on the 13 February. They said to allow up to 11 weeks for them to be checked out and verified. Does anyone have an idea of the current time or is 11 weeks correct?
