Welcome!  You are in the initial stage of the NVC process.  Your case should be received by the NVC by next week.  After that, you will wait for correspondences from the Department of State.  This will entail steps to completing the NVC process, a checklist, case number, and fees.  Please allow 2-3 weeks for this process.  Once NVC receives your file from the USCIS you will have access to NVC>  You may start calling this entity to inquire about your case.

While true you can wait for the DOS to contact you, one should be proactive to shave away weeks of waiting by contact NVC regularly to speed the process. Rather than waiting for the welcome letter, call the NVC starting end of next weeks to see if they received your case, then give it another week and start calling again to get a case number IIN. When you get you case number and IIN, give them your email. This will be the main way of communication between you and NVC. That indeed itself cuts the time by days which all of us need.

In short words, dont wait for them to contact or mail you. Be the one who seeks information and get things done the minute you have the chance too.

Good luck.

Hello Guys,

So I just learnt something today. I called NVC checking on the status of my case, was told the same old same old, my case has not been reviewed and it can take up to 11 weeks. So I asked him if they go in a particular order, he said yes and explain the order. So I told him that I have a friend with a scan date of January 30th and her case was completed today and I am the 24th and mine hasnt. He then further explained to me that he knows that they go in order, but its also split up by country. So its sorted by country then by SC. This is very interesting. He then told me that my case was sent to the review department on the 15th of February but he cant tell me how long from that will it be completed, so I am hoping for next week.

I also asked if they will be closed on Monday, he said yes. So maybe thats why @sibz got through so quick.

That is very possible although it is very impractical. it should be first come first served...this is the most fair. My own opinion.

Thank u so much. I’m not the one that’s doing the filing my husband is. And we are using a lawyer. Can I still call them myself ? Or it’s my husband to do that?

Ok then thanks:)

I am aware of many who are little confused about the process but it is straight forward:

1: Ensure NVC received your case

2: keep calling until you get a case number and IIN

3: Go online to pay the fees once they are invoiced and available

4: once fees showed as PAID, gather all your documents for both IV and AOS and send them in ONE envlope to ANY of the addresses mention in the cover sheet. ( you can start gathering and preparing everything so when it shows PAID, you print the cover sheets and mail)

5: Ensure you write your case number on all the pages. Also ensure you include all documents that pertain to your case

6: Ensure that NVC did receive your documents and it got scanned in their system.

7: Call whenever you feel like it until you get a CC, then the interview letter will follow.
