Hello Everyone,

For anyone whose case was received by NVC in January and has still not received a case number/ invoice number after the 2 week mark, please call every single day.

My docs were received Jan 29th, I called and they told me to wait 2 weeks, I waited and the 2 weeks was up on Feb 12th.

As soon as it hit the 2 week mark this past Monday, I took it upon myself to be a pest! I called 4 times everyday. I got " you should have gotten your case number by now", "we are currently behind", "let me send your case to a supervisor and it might take 6 WEEKS for him/ her to review it".!!!!  I kept up my 7 am, Noon, 3pm and 8pm calls and must have gotten a supervisor referral 4 times.

Ladies and gentlemen, I called last night at 9pm and the nice man on the phone gave me my case and invoice numbers and said they were just created. So, I got my case number after 2 weeks and 2 days of my case getting to the NVC.

Moral of this story/epistle, call them back to back, become a pest, lol. Be very nice on the phone though. This is especially for anyone who has reached the 2 week mark.

Congrats Lyn and Lan! I’m now at 3 weeks and 5 days ☹️ I’ve been calling at least twice a day. Did you ask to speak to a supervisor every time? Maybe that’s where I’m going wrong. It’s so frustrating- you wait months and months for a USCIS approval then think it’s smooth sailing once you get to the NVC stage only to be waiting longer than normal again!! I hope this doesn’t mean the rest of the NVC process is going to drag on.

Can you even request to talk to a supervisor?

Question: so my attorney did not send my husband’s police records with the package sent to NVC, he said that NVC will then send via email instructions for medical exams and police record, I have read that everyone sends police record with the package. Has anyone experienced the same thing? What should I do? Should my husband send it to NVC? Does it need to be translated? He is in Nicaragua. Please help I dont want a checklist

i called again today and they said my doc are on the final review right    now

Hi Rose, you said that you submitted your documents on the 1/31 right? Did you get a checklist prior to that? I asked because the process that we are currently going through is called the review process. So they most times tell us that its currently under the review process and we will hear something within 11 weeks. Was that the kind of response you got? @Rose Sharon

The attorney should have sent it. You might get a checklist for it., which will delay the process. If you have it you can go ahead and send it off with the coversheet.

I believe your attorney is mistaken.  The cover sheet for the IV package requires that the Police Certificate is sent in and translated if applicable.

Thats what I thought 😔 so just print out the cover sheet and send it? Can my husband scan it over to me or should he just mail it from out there?

Sending it from Nevada would be faster and more affordable than sending it from Nicaragua.  Perhaps you can call the NVC and ask them to add it to your package.  Make sure to add an attachment to the document to add it to your package.  It's better than nothing .
