NVC will assign you a case number and an invoice ID number. You will then be able to select an agent, pay all fees then send out your documents. You can either call NVC to find out your case number and IIN or wait for your welcome letter. I called and got mine 2 days after NVC received my packages for USCIS

NVC case received , how do you track that? call NVC and ask them or It will be an update in USCIS website? Is there a way to expedite that? My case was approved on 01/16 and 02/08 my case status changed to "Sent to Dept of State" in USCIS website. Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks and sorry for too many questions.

Hello,

Did you do some research on the NVC?

Here is some links explain the process

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/after-petition-approved/begin-nat-visa-center.html

Is your visa petition approved from USCIS? if so please update your timeline

If it is approved, Texas is taking long time sending to NVC. Within one month NVC will receive your case from Texas.

Then after 2 weeks or few, NVC will assign your case with case number and invoice number and NVC will email you your welcome letter and those numbers

after you get your case number and invoice number, you will pay AOS fee and submit DS-261

after 3 business days, you will pay IV fee and then after other 3 business days, you will submit DS-260

Meanwhile, you should have fill out I-864 form and gather all your tax forms and all the supporting documents and send your package together to NVC when you done with DS-260

after NVC received your package, it takes 6-11 weeks to case complete and then NVC send to Mumbai Embassy and NVC will schedule your interview

Hello guys,

So now after my CC I am awaiting to be scheduled for interview at Mumbai consulate.

I have a question for anyone who might be in similar situation like mine specially people who have been through Indian consulates. My wife has our marriage certificate and her original birth certificate laminated, I know in US some documents are considered invalid after lamination. Does anyone have any experience about presenting laminated documents during visa interview? Did they accept/reject it them? Any inputs will be helpful.

Call nvc and ask them if they received your case 603-334-0700 7am midnight. You would need to have a valid reason to request an expedite from NVC. There's a few members who have gone through expedite that may be able to help you with that

After 7 weeks of wishful waiting, we just discovered, after a call to nvc that our package was sent to the wrong address by our lawyer and now our package is lost. However, we intend sending the package again to NVC.. Can anyone please advice me on how to request for expedited service from NVC... Thanks

yeez that sucks! Why didn't you guys call to check on your case during those 7 weeks? to see if your package had arrived and scanned?

I don't want to discourage you, but it sounds as if because it was your lawyer's fault and not NVC's, you have a slim chance of getting an expedite. Do you have other compelling reasons, medical, financial or otherwise?

We called NVC and we got our scan date: February 9th.

Now to wait 5-6 painful weeks until we (hopefully) get our case complete, then in line for the interview. Anyone experiencing Ciudad Juarez right now? I know they have considerable delays, 3-4 months is not okay for an interview date, especially after having waited for over a year. But it is what it is, sigh.

Thanks for your prompt response. Well, we already planned our Christian wedding for June this year because most of my wife's family members were unable to attend our marriage back home in Nigeria and plans are already in advance stages. Don't know if that's a good enough reason.
