Hey Guys,

I need help. If you are from Ecuador it would be better. So i just called NVC and they told me that today they finished reviewing my case. Buuuuuuuut they rejected my husband's (beneficary) birth certificate and our marriage certificate because they want to long form and i should wait for the email that explains more.

I'm freaking out like craaaazzzyyyy. The representative first was very rude and just seems like he doesn't love his life and when he was explaining it to me he was rushing and then told me they need the long form, from the Registro Civil of Guayaquil (Civil Registry of Guayaquil). For my ecuadorian people, both forms were the forms given to us on the day we got married from the Registro Civil of Guayaquil. So im just confused, and im really hoping they just ask my husband to bring it on the day of the interview.

If anybody has had a similar experience (would be awsesome from Ecuador) in any of your countries, help a girl out so she doesn't go crazy.

Thanks!

Hi! That sucks!! sorry to hear that happened to you. We eloped in Manta, Ecuador. I am American and my husband is from Quito. We received two copies of marriage certificates from that registro civil, one is for the ceremony purposes. But the certificate we sent to USCIS and NVC is the one we actually went to Quito Registro Civil and requested a copy of the marriage certificate from their book. This took like 3 or 4 days, and then they gave me that, we had it  apostilled and translated and sent that one! Same for my husbands birth certificate, requested at the registro civil. Guayaquil is a bit different right, like they even have a different cedula than the rest of the country (all Nebot jajaja) so maybe it would be best to go to the registro civil that is del Estado and not Guayaquil.  Good Luck. I received a CC in 6 1/2 weeks!

Hi guys!

I don't know if the same thing is happening to them when you enter to see your online status...

This was the warning that had the website of Ceac yesterday:

"On Saturday, February 03, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. (Washington, D.C. time), CEAC applications will be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance. Maintenance is expected to be completed by 9:00 p.m., but might be extended beyond this time. If you try to access CEAC during this time, you will receive an error message."

---It's strange that still in these moments I enter to see my online status and I can't because it says error.

So what maintenance was it given to the page? How can we check our online status now? <_<

I hope tomorrow is fixed..

Hi there!

I have a relative that works and knows the procedures with RENIEC. He recommends to first make sure that your relative's place of birth is part of RENIECs data system. If that's the case then you can simply go to RENIEC and have it printed in Lima. If your relative's place of birth is not included, then you'll just go to the Municipalidad as you did and then have it stamped for "USO en el exterior" by the Ministry of Foreigns Affairs. I guess at this point you could ask RENIEC if they do stamp it to give it some extra validation and/or attach a letter of explanation indicating what was the difficulty in getting the certificate from RENIEC. (I remember that is the way to excuse when a document can't be obtained).

Good luck!

Thank you! He is working on getting the birth certificate as they want it. I plan to let you know how it turns out.

Hi.

I dont think i will effect your aproval at least on the day of your interview. Bring the copies to interview sase escenario they have the ones from uscis and worst case they tell you that they will wait until you bring them or send them the originals then they will aprove your aplication. A strong suggestion will be to ask your family member whom took the originals to USA to super fedex them first thing on monday if your budget allows it or go to your local birth registration place and get them if the embassy ask you to send it to them.

All the best today. I pray you get through just fine

Good Luck! Happy to help, this whole process has taken soooo long. I am counting down the hours for it to finish. So all CR 1 and IR 1 visa interviews are always held in Guayaquil. Meaning, when our interview comes up my husband will have to go to GYE.  So we are all under the same US Consulate in GYE schedule...ughh I received an email this morning saying our case had all the right documentation and now is being sent to GYE!! So hopefully in the next day or two we have an interview date!!  Good luck!!!

From our local and distant RENIEC office, it will take 15 days for the certification process required. It would take 6 days in Lima. This is going to add a lot of time to our case. I will call NVC. Maybe this could be something brought to the interview instead of required to schedule it?

Mine was sent to NVC on 1/24, on 1/31 I received verbal confirmation they received it and it was received that day. She told me I should hear within 2 weeks on the case number. I plan to call back on Wednesday, as it will be a week since they received it to see if the case number has been assigned.  Hope that helps!
