Hola chicos

You know what? I'm also in that situation, so I guess we should call NVC and ask them, I don't know...

Hi everybody!

I had my interview today in Lima, Peru. I was scheduled for 7:30 am, my husband and I arrived around 6:30am and lined up. There was a separate line for those applying for immigrant visas. Around 7 we were allowed into the building and asked to seat and wait for my name to be called out. After a quick wait we were called to a window where they asked for my police records, marriage certificate, birth certificate and original AOS. I was also asked about previous US visas, I showed my previous 2 passports containing the visas. Then, I was given a paper regarding domestic violence, had my fingerprints taken and we were asked to sit down and wait for the consul to call us. A few minutes later, the consul called my name and we were instructed to approach another window. The consul was very nice and kind. He asked my husband and I to raise our right hand and swear we were saying the truth, then he asked where and when we met and where we each went to college. Then he smiled and said you’re visa has been approved, he handed me a slip of paper and said it should take at most 2 weeks to be ready.

we are so happy and relieved this process is finally over! Started it in November 2016!!!

now, time to celebrate!!!

Congratulations!!!

Our interview will be in Lima on March, 15th. We are so nervous...A have a couple of questions: Do you need bring originals and copies of your documents? Did you need to pay an immigration fee in the embassy? I just want to make sure.. I don't need to bring the translation of my husband's birth certificate, which is in Spanish. Do we? Thanks in advance...

Tax Question

My husband filed his taxes late, he had requested an extension, he is self-employed. However, after filing his taxes, we used the tax return and transcript of that filing. IRS responded that there was something wrong with the filing and that they need to be adjusted. I already used that tax return for NVC. So my question is, if he adjusts the tax return, let's say the value is less than what it was before but over the poverty guideline non the less, whats your opinion on how the embassy will view this?

Should I take the adjusted copy or used the documents that they already have to not complicate things? Should we take the IRS letter with us to show that they requested the adjustment? Is it gonna be seen as fraudulent? I read this somewhere that fraudulent documents are grounds for dismissal.

Please advise.

Thank you for answering...when you referred to the original AOS.. Do you mean the 18 pages document in which you include Biographic information?? I did not see that document as part of the checklist of documents required for the interview..

AOS mean 1 864 affidavits of support it means your petitioner will fill it and input his/her Income sign and send it to NVC also he will send a copy to you to take to your interview
