I am updating the K1 process documents and procedures on the consulate info page and need some help from those that went through the K1 process through Lagos.  Below is what is posted now. Is this still correct? Seems some of these forms are old. Can you post the process so  I can update please. Thank you.

The I-693 isn't a form that we'd have in hand.  The applicant just goes to the clinic for the exam and can pick up the sealed packet a few days later.  Both clinic sites are usually different prices and ask for a different number of passport photos I believe.

On the link under the FAQ question #2: "HOW DO I FIND AND DOWNLOAD THE DOCUMENTS I NEED FOR THE INTERVIEW?" is the interview prep packet containing further instructions on how to obtain the police report and other helpful information for the interview.

Thank you for always being so diligent!  You're a wonderful asset to this community!

Hello, my NVC case status is “READY”. Can someone please enlighten me on what the next steps are?, I’m the petitioner. Do we wait on the consulate to contact us before doing anything? Anybody has an idea what forms needs to be filled?. I see DS 260 and DS 160. Do they both need to be filled?. Do we need to fill these forms before we can get an appointment or the consulate contacts us first and gives us instructions on necessary steps?. Also, my fiancé can’t find his original birth certificate and he was told he can’t get an original anymore that all he needs is an affidavit. Has anybody heard of this before?

Thanks in advance for the help.

The I-693 is for the civil surgeon inside the USA.
They need a copy of the  DS-3025 from (foreign country) the medical later for AOS, the original will be in a sealed envelope and taken
to meet up again at AOS. The copy helps knowing if they will need to see a CS for AOS or not.
