CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Buxton babe for being the first May filer to get AOS approval.

We went for biometrics today at Atlanta Service Center!!!!! We recvd RFE back on 6/07/07 for tax documents and employment letter.................just waiting for the update on case. I do know that the RFE was delivered in Missouri on 6/19/07

Singers, cool, an interview date -- did you get an email or touch recently which may have hinted at the interview date????

I just had a total mail scare - went to our box (we live in a large complex with a few buildings, each one with about 10 apts) and in it was tons of mail (woo hoo) except it was all for someone else!!! The address was our apt (259) but NOT our building (we live in 3321 and the mail was for someone in building 3344). So I walk over to Bld 3344's mail boxes and stuck the guys mail in as best as possible, and noticed that a number of envelopes were stuck there - basically it seemed that whoever delivered the mail today put 3344's mail in our building, so that apartment numbers matched but that was about it!!!

And I had NO mail for me in my box -- which lead me to totally freak out, call my hubby in a panic and hyperventilate for the next 15 mins --- where is MY mail? Hopefully, in Apt 259, Bld 3344's mail box...either way, very very nerveracking. People in our complex are pretty decent and so no one would walk off with our mail, but if they stick it on our boxes, and mail can fall out as it isn't IN the box, also, mail is sometimes stuck in flyers and I check all my flyers but lots of people just junk the whole bunch....ok, I'm just getting paranoid. The best part is, we even have our name on our box, so how could the mail person not see that this was TOTALLY the wrong box? I should add here, that our mail lady is usually fabulous, so I'm just hoping its a bad day or it's a short term replacement (like, 1 day replacement!)

Anway, I'm hoping that if there is any mail for me, by the time everyone is home, and has checked mail, our's will be easily identified...of course, there are those apt apartments that are vacant currently... if our mail ends there, we are doomed, they may not be rented out for days/months! [We didn't receive any mail yesterday either, and now I'm begining to wonder if it is all in someone else's box?]

I always think of that Seinfeld episode were they switch apartments with this guy (Babu?) who is waiting for his green card and then forget to give him his mail. He ends up missing his GC appt., and is forced to leave the country. sigh.

I'm drinking a glass of orange juice right now, and frankly it could do with a few shots of vodka in!!!!!!

I got touched last June 14th but last monday, June 18th, I received my RFE letter for my hubby's tax information (we sent the entire form all over again since we already submitted all of it in our application). We mailed our reply to the RFE yesterday, June 19th and hopefully all would go well with our case once they receive it..

Then it dawned on me, next week this time the GC is all we will need.

Wow, for those of you waiting, its the same feeling as when you get the K1 visa in your passport COMBINED with the day you get married.

My week update...

Our biometrics was a slow wait but a very painless process. We took his passport and the appointment letter. The form asks for basic stats (hair, eye color, height, weight etc). The form also asked for his social security number so luckily I had that info with me as well.

I finally sent in my RFE stuff. The important part was the tax returns and 1099s but I just sent them everything I have (including my assets and household members assets). I literally have nothing else to give them so I hope they are satisfied.

So just to respond to...

Actually, I have a question for those who have had RFEs... did they show up on your online case status, or not? I'm convinced we're going to get an RFE (just my optimistic nature ), so was wondering whether you get 'warning' in the form of a change in case status, or whether the RFE just lands in your mailbox to 'surprise' you out of the blue?

I received NO email and NO update on my case status online for the RFE. The simple white envelope with a pink piece of paper inside is all I got. We now have a "do not touch the mail until I sort it" rule in my house. That's pretty much all you can do.

Ug. I need a break. I'm going to try not to think about immigration all weekend.

Ahh, sounds like it's not at all unusual for RFEs to come as a 'lovely' surprise, then... after all those touches earlier in the week, I'll be on the lookout for a suspicious-looking envelope from USCIS! Thanks. Oh, and hope they get back to work on your file quickly once they get your RFE stuff back!

We're going to be away from this afternoon until sometime Sunday... at least that should stop me fixating over the stupid online case status and such (even though it's pretty pointless even looking 'til after my biometrics, I'm sure, I still can't resist checking it after those touches, to see if there have been more!)... hopefully I'll return to find lots of good news from lots of May people. Wow Buxton Babe...that's a quick one. Congratulations!!! You must be so relieved to get this process done with.

I just went to the biometric appointment this morning. It was interesting. The lady was taking forever getting my fingers printed. Two people that were called after me were finished way before me. I had to do it over and over. The lady said that my fingers are too small or maybe she was just incompetence..heh. I hope there won't be any problems with them.
