So I guess our case is lost because we still don't have any touches for AOS or EAD.

Our NOA is from 5/8 -- what's going on?

It's just frustrating (although I'm glad for you all) that there are couples with transfers BEFORE us but with NOAs AFTER us.

You could schedule an infopass appointment at your local office:

https://infopass.uscis.gov/info_en.php

Can I really silke? Would it make a difference?

If it weren't for VJ I wouldn't even know it takes 90 days for the EAD.

Yes, you can schedule an infopass appointment. However, I'm not sure how much information they would give you. They might just tell you to wait a little longer or they might actually give you a case update.

Thanks silke. I'm afraid to make an appt to be told I have to wait...

I thought about calling but I figure they won't have anything to say - if it's at all like the K1.

I guess I'll call first, but if I don't hear anything by next week then we'll pursue this more.

Don't you have to wait till the 91st day in order to actually get some kind of action or useful info from an infopass appointment for an EAD? I don't want to sound like an a$$, but it's only been a month and a couple of weeks or so since you filed. Are you worried because there have been so many others who have gotten transfers and/or interview dates and you haven't?

Karly & Bruce,

I know what you mean. I did call today - although obviously the machine didn't tell me anything I can't read on-line. I didn't bother talking to anyone (any person).

I understand also that I can't do much about the EAD since it's been about 45 days...

but I wish that our AOS would be transferred or something.

It does seem like more and more people are transferred, or have interviews, and then approved...and we're at almost 3 weeks without even a touch.

It's just frustrating. I guess I'm being sensitive since I read about other couple's good news and updates....and we haven't had any action in June (May was full of good news for us - NOAs, touches, biometrics...).

Oh well, patience IS a virtue - I just don't have it.

Thanks for letting me b**ch.

I completely understand (and I'm sure most here do as well). All this waiting, not knowing what's going on, others getting good news and you being left in the shadows and needing lots of patience is almost as bad as trying to conceive a baby.:P

Hey all.

I just wanted to update my situation from a couple pages ago, in the hopes that someone in a similar situation in the future can learn something. Here's a quick review:

- Filed for EAD/AOS/AP on May 18.

- Moved across the country at the end of May.

- Never received anything -- not even notice of receipt (I-797C) for any of the above applications, even though they were sent out on May 24th. The reason is that the USPS didn't forward our USCIS mail to us, for some reason.

- On June 14, the online case system said that notices were returned as undeliverable to USCIS for all three applications.

- Besides the I-797C's, we were concerned that we wouldn't get the biometrics appointment information, and we'd miss our appointment.

- I called USCIS on Thursday last week, but they said they couldn't see what notices, exactly, were sent to us. They said all we could do is have the notices re-sent, but it could take up to 30 days to receive them. We knew we would miss the biometrics appointment by then!

Finally, we set up an appointment with our local office through Infopass for today. We explained everything to the immigration officer, and at first she told us the same thing: on her computer, she could only see notices were returned on the 14th, but not any information about the notices themselves. After a few more minutes, she told us that there was "another computer system" there where she could try to find more information about our cases. She said that only certain employees there had the ability to access the system.

After a few more minutes, she returned and had a printout with information about every notice they have mailed to us, including the date when it was sent. The biometrics appointment info was indeed sent at the end of May. Additionally, an RFE was sent out on the 8th -- which we still haven't received.

In the end, she because it's been awhile since the biometrics appt info was sent, she set us up for an appointment at the local ASC office today! She also said that she'll try to find out info about the RFE and she'd call us about it later this week. She said RFE's usually want the info within 30 days, so we hope she gets that info right away.

But the moral of the story is: schedule an appointment through Infopass if you get stonewalled anywhere, especially by the customer service number. Your local immigration officer can do more!

2009: I-751 (Removal of permanent resident conditions)

9/19: Sent I-751 application & supporting materials.

9/21: Package delivered to USCIS.

9/22: Check cashed.

9/26: NOA1 received.

10/22: Biometrics appointment completed.

10/23: Application touched.

11/17: GC production ordered.

11/23: GC received.

Aha... thank you, maybe it's nothing to worry about after all, then - just an USCIS officer looking for a convenient place to rest their cup of coffee or something. Don't know why I other view other people's touches as 'exciting stuff about to happen' but mine as 'surely an RFE in the making' - such an optimist, me!

Oh, and I hope you get some kind of movement on yours soon! :)
