My AOS package just arrived in Chicago :)

Just a word of advice for those who have an EAD (ie F1 student) then adjust status based on marriage but have a time lag between new EAD arriving. Under section 245K of the Naturalization act you are allowed to work for up to 180 days of the expiration date of the first card. I have read other blogs while researching my own case and found some people who quit there jobs or took a 3 month vacation. The government cannot consider you out of status, as long as your application has been submitted and receipt notices sent (for 1-485) for 180 days. If its going to be longer than that quit your job or your application will be denied.

Congrats mysticbluerose!! That was fast!! Hope to see more interview dates in this thread, to boost up the spirit of all filers!!! Buxton babe is the second one to have an interview date!! That's so great to know... Congrats to you!!!

FeatherB, I will try to email the uscis regarding my A# and might call them too to be sure. I might also post a question here about my situation, maybe someone with encountered this too and could give me an advise!!

Thanks for the info Irishpete but I submitted my AOS application (and received my NOAs) before my OPT EAD (Optional Practical Training) expired. Also I'm aware that my status changed and that I'm no longer an F1 student but a pending immigrant. I won't work until I receive my greencard. (We didn't apply for EAD). Thanks!

I received my biometrics appointment notice... June 28/07 :dance:

However, my local office is different than what I thought. I figured I would be going to Jacksonville because that's where our neighbours went to when they went through AOS (from K-1 like us). On the appointment letter, it says I have to go to New Orleans. Interesting...

hello to all of you here in vj I have a good news for you I got my NOA few minutes ago after my husband called to the USCIS officer and asked some question regarding our AOS status we found out that they send us NOA last May 15. My Notice date is June 1, 2007 My biometric date is June 27, 2007...thanks for all the support vj members specially May filers special mentioned to Silke my new friend here... :dance:
