AOS/EAD May filers

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask if anyone has an idea of how long it "usually" takes to get your EAD after you have done your biometrics. I know the time varies from each applicant but I just wanted a rough estimate. Thanks a lot and your replies are all appreciated. Charles

I checked out a lot of people's timelines and it seems to be roughly 3 months for the EAD to be approved. Assuming everyone's biometrics is 3-4 weeks after their NOA then I guess 2 more months to be approved??

This is only my guess from what I've seen on other's timelines.

featherB we mailed our AOS paperwork on May 23rd too just like you. Hope we both get our NO1 at about the same time.. Please post if you get yours.. Getting nervous here..

Welcome to the club sweetangel,

It seems that the biometrics letter comes fast - and then the appt. I was looking at the April filers thread and it seems about 1/2 were transferred to CSC, and the others have interviews in June & July.

I am really nervous here and getting nervous some more coz I didn't know I have an A# already from my I-129F NOA1.. We tried calling the uscis number before filling out the forms and they said that we just have to put n/a on the space provided for A#.. I was reading some forums here and found out that the A# is in th approval letter.. So dumb of me not to figure it out, and knowing that I asked questions here before I filled up the paperwork, I never asked where to find A#... I really thought the uscis call center people knew what they're talking about and just put n/a in my A#..

Well, I am looking forward to my RFE letter now..

Ahhh, USCIS...

If I were you then I'd prepare the letter giving you your A # so if/when you receive an RFE you can mail that to them that day.

I have a big problem

I received a letter today from uscis and it was pink.

it stated that the office was unable to process my application to adjust status without initial information.

it said i must submit all info below or will result in denial.

you are also ineligible for employment authorization until 90 days after the missing initial evidence is recieved.

cna somebody tell me what do i need to send in because i am confused.

the letter said: the sponsor or joint sponsor if Required must submit the following

Federal income tax returns for the most recent tax year or certified irs copies.

Statement in place of federal tax returns.

Extensions.

W-2s, 1099 and all schedules submitted to the irs if if a copy of his her federal tax return is being submited and/or the sponsor or joint sponsor requested an extension to file tax return.

Really what the hell to they want?

We had sent w2s for sponsor and joint for the pass three years what else are we suppose to send.

Please someone help

They may have lost your W2s and other financial documents - resend them.

Send them everything they want - even if you've already done so.

I'm sorry to hear about this - and know it is not uncommon to see USCIS ask for something already sent to them.

I am really happy because our checks have been cashed!! Whoo hoo. I thought after the rejection notice that it would not happen but it did and I can rest a bit now.

If you added everything they asked for then maybe they have lost a document, let us know what happens. My husband had to send his tax returns, w2's and the affidavit of support, I can't think of anything else he sent.

Good for you winterr that yoour checks have been cashed already, meaning they're really working on your case right now and not just sitting around..
