Hubbie just had his biometrics. He said: "Went in, filled in a form, gave form, took fingerprints, took picture, done." So, I think that about sums it up.

We finally got out snail mail for biometrics.. 6/08.

What do you have to fill out on the form for biometrics? Basic information or do you have to have your paperwork handy to answer it? My husband's letter said he only has to bring that one form and id.. nothing else? (NOA1s??)

Sorry I'm just nervous because I won't be there with him and I've bascially handled all the paperwork so far. I don't want him to get to the form and not know how to fill it out!

Nothing I say is legal advice. I recommend you consult a qualified immigration attorney for any questions you may have.

Harry says he filled out: Social security number (which he forgot - and they said that was okay), address, telephone number, parent's first names, his name, hair color, eye color, date of birth, place of birth.

Lucky for him my mom was with him, because he forgot to bring his wallet with his new ID that had all the current information on it. His memory is terrible. I need to get him to memorize at least the address and phone number

Anyways, updated information:

Thanks! I know he can fill out that much on his own! Phew!

I wonder if the later biometrics appointment is a reflection on how busy your local office is... hmmmm...

Nothing I say is legal advice. I recommend you consult a qualified immigration attorney for any questions you may have.

Singers, I think you're right about some USCIS offices being busy. Orlando has a lot of immigrants and it seems I'm waiting a few days longer than some others.

My husband's biometrics letter says to only bring an ID as well.

Yay - my AOS package was signed for at 2:08pm. Now (as I read earlier in this thread!) can you really get a refund if you pay for Express Mail (my receipt says 'noon' as the 'scheduled time of delivery') and it doesn't make it there in time?!

NOA will be going to fiance's husband's mother's house, so as I can't start fixating about her mailbox anytime soon (well, obviously no point in that for another week or so at least, anyway), I will just have to start obsessively checking my online banking for evidence of cleared checks about a week from now. :)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

I'm back from my biometrics appointment. It was fast and easy. I had to fill out the form Arazia described above and they took my fingerprints and picture. In addition to the appointment notice and my ID, I had to show them our marriage certificate as proof of the name change. Good luck to all of us :)

If you read the wording describing express mail, it says it can deliver to 'most' places by noon. I think the guarantee on it has to do with it being delivered next day. I wouldn't worry too much about a couple of hours. It's picked up from a P.O. box a couple of times a day so it may have been delivered on time, but no one was there to sign for it.

I was the one who posted about getting your money back. I decided against it. Anyway, it was delivered by noon Chicago time. So, I guess that was right.

Your check will be cashed soon...

Ah, I'm not worried, I just thought if they were routinely refunding the money if they didn't deliver by noon, and it was easy to claim it back... well, $16 (or whatever it was, I forget) is not to be sniffed at! Anyway... I'm just glad it got there safely, that's the only reason I paid for the express mail (as opposed to when I was sending my forms & checklist back to the embassy in London, when I wanted it there NOW!), I don't care what time of day they get it there, just so long as it arrives and I know about it so I don't need to fret! :)

Oh - glad the biometrics went well and stress-lessly, btw!

Yeah, I very much doubt I'll bother to even look into it... I just remembered seeing that mentioned on the first couple of pages of the thread, and thought 'hmm'... like I said, all that matters to me is that it got there!
