Hubby called me today to tell me his GC arrived in the mail - I guess he didn't realize that it actually is a "card"....just goes to show how we don't have a clue...

It was actually the welcome letter from lovely USCIS, so I guess that the card will be here this week (and his new DL too I hope).

Congrats Maria!

winterr, do you think it's worth it to apply for AP? It'd be expensive for you two, right? I hope your AOS doesn't take long, but hey, if it does, maybe you'll be able to bypass removing conditions because you'll have been married for a year - it'll save you some money.

It's because he really didn't (still doesn't) know that much about the process. I explain things to him and he does what I say - to get the process rolling. He knows he came here legally and will get residency but it wasn't a dream so he didn't research it - that's my job  .

But you're right, he forget that it's a card and neither one of us knew that a letter would come WITHOUT the card. I've never read that...or at least didn't pay much attention.

Now I'm pretty sure the card will be here in a few days - the card production e-mail was sent 2 days after the welcome letter was mailed...

Yeaaaa. I know his DL is a big deal - his only ID now is his passport and an old FL ID (now expired).

I'm really starting to wonder if theyve been using our applications as a coaster or to prop up a desk. I regret not filing for AP, its been almost a year since we've been to visit back home, and soon enough i'll have to apply for another EAD =/

I regret not filing for AP too, February will be one year since we have visited our home.

I'd consider doing it now, but the cost of filing for 3 people is crazy. I've considered making an infopass, but it just doesnt seem worth it as we will likely be told its being held up by the FBI namecheck.

Congrats to all who got their GC recently!
