Just checking if anything new has happened since the last time. Bora, your husband is a patient man! I am impatient because there are only a few may filers who haven't heard news.

Nothing here - it's been almost 5 months since the last touch. So I guess we can call immigration in a week to mention how it's been 6 months and NOTHING....still at the NBC.

He is patient.

My hubby is working and driving - and has no desire to leave the country at this time - so I guess he figures what's the rush? I'd feel better knowing that he has permanent residency and is not in limbo...

And I don't want to pay for the AP for us to be able to go to Brasil next year....it's a waste, we've already applied - almost 6 months ago - for the AOS.

Grrrr

I know how you feel, I agree that it's not worth visiting home for the cost of the AP. My daughters last touch was different to mine too. It's getting frustrating really.

Today marks 5 months since a touch - and almost 6 months since AOS was received by USCIS. I think I'll call them when I have free time (and my hubby can do the 3-way caller). It's not worth it to talk to CS - but to an IO - so we'll see how that goes.

Like I've said, hubby is not in a hurry, but I don't like how he is out of status. Now I know he's not illegal since he's in the process, but he still is basically without visa.

He's happy since he can work and drive - but we need to start thinking about our next trip to Brasil - and I don't want it to include an expensive AP.

Good luck to all of us!

We haven't called yet - and I don't know when we will. It's difficult due to our work schedules. I think we'll wait another two weeks because I have a week off of work for Thanksgiving (yea I'm a teacher!!!) so I'll ask my husband to call me when he can get a few minutes away from work so we can do the 3-way.

TGIF everyone!

Just an update:

We had our interview on Monday afternoon and were approved. She stamped my wife's passport.

The place was crazy. Newark, NJ is crazy. We waited more than an hour and a half past our appointment time before being called (I should have brought a magazine).

I almost barfed when the interviewer asked us for proof of our current residence. We had been temporarily living with my parents in their basement while we looked for a house so we:

-had no bills at our current address

-our drivers licenses were from out of state

-to make filing income tax easier, I had changed my work address and bank accounts to a relative's house in MA (so I would not really have left the state in '07 - I work in outside sales for software and travel all over the Northeast).

The one saving grace was that we bought a house back up in MA, so we had the deed and all the info with both our names on it.

The other interesting aspect and one question the IO grilled us on had nothing to do with my wife or her situation. Apparently in 2000 when I traveled to Holland to visit my parents (living there at the time), I was brought into "secondary questioning" by customs when I re-entered the US in Boston. I didn't even remember this, but the IO was interested in my reaction, or apparently USCIS now thinks I am some kind of international smuggling fiend or something. She asked me if I remembered this and why I was brought in. They had the exact date even.

Oh well. We got the stamp. Good luck to everyone else here that has waited so patiently. Keep up the faith, be persistent, and you WILL eventually get there too.

4/25 - overnighted packet to Chicago (130, 485, 765, 131)

5/01 - NOA date

5/18 - RFE received for 485

5/19 - biometrics appointment

5/21 - overnighted RFE documentation to Missouri

5/24 - notification that response to RFE received

6/14 - changed address on-line, then called

6/18 - mailed I-865

6/19 - all touched

6/20 - all touched

7/06 - notification AP and EAD approved

7/16 - AP letter and EAD card received

9/23 - AOS Interview letter received for 10/29

Firstly, congratulations to you wheeler, that is great news.

Bora, my hubby is a teacher too and I can't wait til he gets his thanksgiving vacation.

Now today I was wondering s omething, if my case is processing at the california service center, I don't get an interview, so I figure they just send me a notice. If they just send me a notice, does anyone know if they email you also? I am nervous after changing my address that my mail might not be getting directed.

Just curious.

Hey all fellow May filers!

Congratulations wheeler!

Is anyone keeping up on the May filer timeline? Have been pretty busy of late so haven't been online as much as I used to be. Good to see another May filer finding success!

Winterr, you should get a change of address notice, although our notice took forever to arrive. (Corrected a minor address error when we filed the original K-1 packet.) It took 50 days to get the notice of address change in the mail. If you don't get one within two months you might want to make an infopass appointment and confirm USCIS has you proper new address on file. Hopefully you simply get your approval notice well before that of course!

How many May filers are still waiting?
