It IS quiet around here. I think it's because someone rained on our parade,

There is really no need for comments like this, especially after what I warned people about last week AND the hour I spent cleaning up the aftermath in this very thread.

I am really scared/nervous now...I thought I'd have all kinds of time before I had to decide what I want to do, work on my resume, etc...I have been off since June 2006 so I feel like I'll be useless in a job now.

Congratulations on your GC!

One idea - if your not sure what to do for work and not terribly pressed for cash, maybe just pick something up part-time and go take a class at a local community college, continuing ed program. I did that just for fun and a few years and many courses later later found myself launched into a new career.

Oh I sure wish it was the GC, but it was actually the EAD & AP. Still good news though!

My husband has been very supportive of the very idea that you mentioned. He is really encouraging me to take the time to decide what I would enjoy & love to do every day. He is so fantastic! I will definitely do some soul-searching and decide if going back to school is what I want. I had a few opportunities fall into my lap yesterday, so we'll see where things go.

Thanks for the congrats everyone...I am crossing my fingers for GC approvals for all of us!

Hey you guys...

For those of us still waiting for interviews or have had interviews but are awaiting GC approval for AOS, are people going to wait until processing times have passed at local offices or start scheduling infopass appointments or lobbying their senator ahead of time?

I'm not really sweating this, but I don't want to wait until late December or January, which is when it looks like we'll finally be outside of the processing times - only because our AP and EAD expire NEXT July and by the time that works itself out, we might be cutting it close.

Just wondering what others think.

I've already gone for a few infopasses already...they've been very helpful and always give me as much information as they possibly can. That's where I found out that I cleared background checks! I think that if it isn't too much of a hardship to visit the office, go for it!

I don't think there is much that we can do until we are outside processing times. Annoying as it is, I don't think our voices will carry much weight until that happens. We are within the time they project it to take. I don't want to waste my opportunities and energy, for something that is not outside of official expectations.

And how do we know the processing times, it still shows my receipt at MSC, however we went for the interview in newark? I'm lost as to when I can go in and check the status of his AOS name check.

If the interview was in Newark then you would look up the Newark office on the UCSIS site. Once your notice date is beyond the current date on the table - then you are outside the processing times.

Hey guys I just had my GC interview and I think it didn't went so good first off my daughter started running around the officers office then me and my wife got the standard questions she didn't seperate us but i ran into a few problems maybe not quite a problem tell me what you think guys.

1 she said she needed proof of me attending college so i have to send a copy of my transcript but just to make sure its not enough i am going to send a copy of my SEVIS letter copies of my student work permits and my degree. "HOPE THATS SUFFICIENT"

2. Me and my wife been together for a long time 3 whole years of marriage but we were legally separated the end of last year we thought we had closed the case but i guess i worded the letter wrong and the case was still open probably might affect my case but i went to the court house as soon as we got back into town and dropped off a letter asking for the case to be closed she didn't ask for a copy of the judge decision mainly because she can get that on the county website but hey i am going to send that anyway.

Other than those issues she asked standard questions she was straight face and didn't really drop a hint but she did ask where i worked and kinda told me that "with you having two kids with your wife it seem to be ok and i just need the transcript within a month."

I am going to send those things on Friday should be there by Monday.

I hope having a short interview is not a bad thing because i am $#!T tired 2 hour to and from with my daughter screaming both ways  .

Wish me luck guys and good luck to everyone who is in the process

Thanks a million  , the date they are currently working on is 1/4/2007 go figure nothing is easy, however all other dates so far have been way off but we have been ahead of the game so far. Hopefully this will also be the case. Anyway we made an infopass for 9/27/07 to check on the status anyway. He is not able to get AP because he was out of status.

Has anyone ever gotten the card without any updates on CRIS?

I think it should be fine, and there is nothing wrong with kids running around the office really, I am sure many have done that before, it's just part of family life and what kids do. Once you give them everything they want I think you will do fine

Good luck
