I am afraid of driving too Arazia, I am putting it off. I am still checking for touches and have none and waiting for confirmation because I changed my address online. Has anyone who has changed their address online got confirmation of that yet? My daughter got her letter but I didn't get mine.

No touches here either - since May. I keep thinking I should call USCIS, but don't think it'll do much of anything - but mostly I've been so busy.

Hubby is HAPPY to be driving and neither one of us can imagine him NOT being behind the wheel....hahaha.

Good luck to those who are going to - it's easier than you think  .

Hubby is also working a lot and things are SO MUCH better for us both because of this. There is a lot more $$ and he's busy and driving his new car and it's really great. THIS is why I wanted that EAD so much. My husband was tired of being at home and now he feels very comfortable in the U.S.

Arazia, we're also going to travel next year (if all goes fine). There is no need for us to go to Brazil this year (though I'd like to) and my husband will need to earn his vacation time I'm sure. Also, he opted not to apply for the AP so he can't anyway....

So....we'll go sometime next year - spring break/summer vacation time.

All he needs is his GC, but we hope to have it by then.

I check this thread everyday just to see if you folks got the green card. I can't believe it hasn't come yet. You may want to frame it if it ever comes.

Congratulations Cassandra, I hope that it gets there before you leave, you could always have the post office hold your mail til you get back if you haven't got your GC before leaving.

CONGRATS!

I don't mean to be Suzy Raincloud, but you may want to get the passport stamped. I may be mistaken, but I don't believe you can travel on the AP once you Green Card has been approved - even if it is not yet in your hands.

Congrats Cassandra, that's excellent news. I think you will have your GC in time! Maybe you should book an infopass to try to get a stamp just in case.

Congrats Cassandra!!

I have to share that I called USCIS today and the CS lady was nice - but couldn't tell me much so she transferred my call to an IO (didn't know they could do that - didn't ask). The IO that I talked to was a giant B**CHHH!! She told me she couldn't talk to me because my husband wasn't there...although I'm his wife, petitioner, sponsor! She wouldn't even let me talk, she just kept on and on...and I had to ask her to repeat herself once because her accent was so thick. Now I even had to tell her that she was not being professional - I realized I was raising my voice. And...she hung up on me!!

I told her that it's hard for my husband and I to be on the phone at the same time because we both work long hours. She was nasty and rude! I was HOT when I hung up. But what to do, right?

The only thing is an infopass but I don't know if my husband can get time off of work yet - and it may not do anything.

What a pissy lady...

I hope no one else has this problem. But I also hope that you can talk to an IO if you ever have to call.

edit: Oh yea, I told the IO that my husband doesn't speak English well and she said that they have Spanish IOs....um, hello, my husband doesn't speak Spanish! She was nasty from the beginning of the call....

When I knew that my EAD had been mailed, we were headed out of town for the summer break (hubby is a teacher) so we got the post office to hold all our mail until we got back, they delivered everything when we returned. It's also good home security so no one knows you are out of town by seeing your mailbox full.

My EAD was there so all worked out.

I am sorry you had to go through that today Bora Bora. I've had about 50-50 luck with IO's after the CS lady transfers me. The CS's are always very nice. They may not know much due to their limited information, but they're very nice. Now the IO's- I have had 2 very helpful ones who even looked into my other pending applications & told me what their status' were...and I've had two that didn't offer much information at all, and were rude to boot!! It's such a crapshoot when you call, I swear!

In my case, I got transfered to an IO because my AP application isn't in the CS's system yet. Once they've confirmed that I have an NOA and I am reading the correct receipt number, they transfer me over to someone "who has access to more information than they do" ... a.k.a. an Immigration Officer, lol.
