Just to let you know, you won't receive an actual approval notice in the mail. After doing some research I learned that the green card (and the mailer that came with it) is the approval notice.

Congrats again :)

wheeler, you and I have similar timelines - except we haven't received an rfe so our case shouldn't have been slowed down.

my hubby says nothing about the GC since he was mostly concerned with the EAD. now that he has it he's working on buying a car. we need one...

I wonder why our case hasn't even been transferred or touched...we'll see what happens.

Bora, Winterr,

Yeah, not knowing is a killer. Byzantine does not even begin to describe how USCIS must operate. Literally, this makes the RMV look efficient.

I'm just concerned about the fact that we haven't got an interview date. It would seem to me that there shouldn't be anything holding that up. From what I am reading, FBI name check doesn't hold that up. Confirmation was received that our response to RFE was received three months ago. Confirmation of address was received and EAD and AP were approved and received at new address. So what's been going on for the past two months?

4/25 - overnighted packet to Chicago (130, 485, 765, 131)

5/01 - NOA date

5/18 - RFE received for 485

5/19 - biometrics appointment

I think you are talking about the Welcome letter (??) Usually people receive a welcome letter, and the actual green card (plus mailer). Just the other day someone asked about the "approval notice" here on the messageboard, and from what others answered I learned that there is no actual approval letter...Take a look here:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=82566

To use DR_LHA's words "An Approval Notice was Sent" is USCIS code for "We have mailed your Green Card."

My husband just had his AOS interview yesterday and he is APPROVED!

Congrats on everyone else that has either been approved or just received their GC.

Good luck to those that are still waiting! I am sure you are not too far behind!

We arrived at the Seattle office about 45-60min early (wasn't sure how the traffic was going to be...better early than late). We were called in about 1pm (our interview was for 1:30pm) and we were out by 1:15pm or so...The officer was very nice (but not overly, until after the interview). We told him about VJ which I guess he hadn't heard about and said he wish more people read up on things before they came (or something like that) and he was glad there was a site that aided those like all of us (much more interesting than the long boring Immigration manuals). We brought LOADS of stuff and he mainly looked through our wedding photos and looked at mine and my dads Employment letter and asked to see proof of joint living (like accounts and such). We didn't have very much to show as it hasn't been very long since Pete arrived. He asked about housing and asked if I had a letter from my parents stating that they owned the house and let us live there. I didn't but I thought it would be a good thing to put on here in case there are others like us. The officer was pretty easy going so he let it pass seeing other items we brought, but it may be a good thing to have for others! All in all the interview wasn't very long. Most of the stuff he said he already had in our file (like our marriage cert) He did take a copy of the Employment letter but barely glanced at the tax stuff even though the interview letter said to bring them. (NOTE**This may be different for others as you well know. Different officers are more picky about different stuff. It doesn't hurt to bring one of everything just in case! lol**All in all it was an easy experience although Im sure we were both a little nervous hoping he had everything we needed. The FBI check had already passed he said so we should get Pete's greencard in 6-8 weeks! We are betting on about 3-4 (pete says 2) for it to arrive based on other timelines as well as how fast we received his EAD.

Overall, it was quick and not too painful. lol and the officer was really nice. :)

He also reminded us that we have to do this all over again in two years! Hopefully that is less paperwork and more questions (the questions are ok...it's just bringing in 10lbs of paperwork that sucks!)

Congratulations!!
