Singers - congratulations on your successful interview and approval!

Congratulations to all those getting EADs and GC production notices.

We received my card on the 26 July (woo hoo) and my picture isn't so bad - nice surprise!

AND we received our interview notice a few days later --- for Friday, 21 September 2007!!! With a nice afternoon time as well (hope the IO isn't in a huge rush for lunch!)

Now to start worrying about the interview, preparing all the docs we submitted - updating, recollecting etc etc. It is good to hear all the success stories, especially of the May filers!

Cheers, Cardamom

Hilarious! Came home from our interview and expected to see an update on our AOS, but got a touch and status changed to approved for our EAD! Also got the CHRIS email regarding card production for the EAD. So it was really a good day!! Oddly there was no touch for our AOS...

We were APPROVED at our interview! :thumbs:

:dance: :dance: :dance: We arrived an our early, and waited about a half hour after our scheduled interview time to get our name called. The wait was fun though, with two cute twins hamming it up for their parents.

The interviewer, we will call her Ms. C was very professional. Very friendly but very much just looking for the facts. She ran down a few of the yes/no questions, asked about some details, such as dates of marriages, divorces, birth dates, living arrangements etc. She also asked about how we met, and about when we met in person. I would guess the interview lasted about fifteen minutes. After going through questions on our filed paperwork, she asked to look at any extra documentation to show our relationship was ongoing and genuine. We gave her a stack of pictures, with date stamps, she briefly examined those. Then we showed her copies of insurance forms, mail showing our address with her name and or my name to, the checks for the AOS and EAD fee's were on our joint checking and that seemed to be a very good thing for her to see, rental agreement, life insurance, and a card from my coworkers congratulating us on our wedding. She didn't keep any of this extra documentation, just looked at it. It also seemed to impress her when we pulled out a thick stack of letters and cards we had written back and forth over the last two years.

She seemed a bit curious about the fact that we had only had one visit in person, and that was less than a week, but we were able to show her that we could document a lot of constant contact, and there were valid reasons for just the one visit. (I would have married this person without even having traveled to visit her! The visit just confirmed the feelings we had were genuine.)

All in all it was a pleasant experience. At the end she told us that we were approved, and explained that the green card would be a two year version since our marriage is under two years old. She gave us a form which told us the dates to file the I-751 in 2009. She flat out told us all the security checks had been completed, so there would be no delay in getting the green card.

We asked about the I-551 stamp and she told us they don't do that, but now work to get cards out quicker. I also asked her if she could tell us the status of our EAD application, since it had not gotten a touch since June 11th after our biometric appointment even though I understood now we would not need it, I told her I was curious. She said that application is handled separately, and I was right, we would not need an EAD now but it was good to have applied, just in case any of the security checks had delayed approval of the AOS.

She also said "Wow! You two sure seem to know a lot about how the system works, and were very well prepared!" I didn't tell her about VisaJourney, but we have to tell all of you who have helped us along the process here, THANK YOU!!!! :thumbs:

Good luck to all of the May filers still waiting! We will keep checking out this thread until every one of us has our green cards in hand!

APPROVED!!!

We got an approval today in Seattle. The interview was pretty easy considering our unique situation. (we abandoned the K3 process and skipped directly to AOS from VWP.) After we explained our situation he approved us. Didn't ask to see any documentation or pictures (other than proof of who we were) but we had submitted everything when we sent in our packet. He only asked a couple of the "No" questions at random, not all of them and that was it. He said the card should arrive in 2 weeks. (We didn't ask for the stamp.)

Congratulations! :dance::dance::dance:
