2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

TO ARAZIA and maybe everybody thinking the same way:

Hey, just a little thing... You wrote that you will apply for removal condition on Mar 24 2009. I think that date is wrong. Becuase in the VJ Guide for removal condition say very clear that is the second anniversary of the permanent residence card not of your wedding...

The following is a copy and paste from the VJ Guide:

"When to File:

If you are filing jointly, the I-751 form must be filed within the 90 days just preceding the expiration date on your permanent residence card. This is the date that your conditional residence expires. Note that, despite the fact that you may see word "anniversary" used in a confusing way regarding the filing date for removal of conditions, your wedding date is completely irrelevant to determining the window of time during which you may file for removal of conditions"

BoraBora, not sure if this helps you feel better or not but I hope so, your calculation should start from your NOA1 dates, which was May 8th, so your applications are really at day 75 not including today...

That's what I thought too - but the immigration officer at the INFOPASS appointment told me that the counting begins from the receipt date. I don't know...

Thanks Arazia,,, Bora Bora, your timeline is a week ahead of mine, you should be hearing something anyday. So far I managed to get my wife added to the phone bill. The electric company said no, only one name on thier bill. Cable company said we have to go in person to thier office and show ID to have her name added to the account. I havn't tried the bank yet but with no ssn I don't think that will work. Happy tuesday

Err... thanks for your concern but our date is correct. You are supposed to file 90-days prior to the anniversary of permanent residence. My husband's greencard expires on June 21st, 2009. Calculating back 90-days prior to that date is Mar 24, 2009.

Our wedding anniversary, as it says in our timeline, is April 14th, so I'm not sure where you got the wrong idea from. In any case, our date is correct, thanks!

Good luck to those with interviews - and good news.

We decided not to apply for the EAD now. We'll wait to see what happens...patience is a virtue I know.

Not that it matters much, but the USCIS website says they're working on EAD applications dated April 28th. So if my hubby's applications are not touched or have action taken then we have more to work with when we talk to immigration.

I made another INFOPASS appointment for this Friday (we're going to NY on Sunday), but I'm not sure if we should go....
