I sent my AOS with express on the 8th of May 2007, I hope I hear soon whether they got it, do they let you know some how or give you a receipt or something? Anything? I just want to rest knowing that they some how let you know that they have everything and that all is ok.

I think it depends on how you send it. For instance, I sent it through USPS (US Postal Service) with delivery confirmation. It gave me an ID number I could look up on the USPS website which told me when it was delivered. Some others use signature confirmation, which works much the same way, but requires a signature to prove it was accepted.

If you didn't get some sort of tracking on the package, then you'll probably just have to wait for the NOA1.

Thanks arazia, they did recieve it the next day. Hopefully they will cash the check soon!

Hi Winterr,

In my obsessive state after I mailed my AOS, I noticed that for most people the cheque is cashed about 6 business days after it was received. That prediction held true for mine! Keep an eye out for the cheque to clear around that time.

Got biometrics letter today. Date is on the 25th. He did well on his english placement, but not good on his math. Which kind of surprised and disappointed me. Oh well.

Hihi

We were supposed to be in the April filers thread but things got delayed so... here we are! I'm hoping we'll get our NOA1 any day now since they cashed the checks. (I tried typing the case file in but it hasn't been updated in the system yet.. not that I'm anxious or anything. lol)

Nothing I say is legal advice. I recommend you consult a qualified immigration attorney for any questions you may have.

I think you're right Singers - one day to be delivered, but a week to cash the check. However, after that the biometrics appt is usually fast.

I didn't even check our cases to see if they're updated today. I've been so busy - and are there touches between the NOA and the biometrics appt anyway?

My hubby wants to go to cc here too - but he has to learn English first.

My biometrics appt seems to be a tad bit later than the others - if you compare our NOA dates. Could this be because I live in Orlando (there are a lot of immigrants here)?

Well, don't look a gift horse in the mouth, right? :P

We are really happy to have a date - and after the school year is over - so better for me.

Could be the location, could be due to when weekends fall. I'm just glad to get ours before the summer semester starts for hubbi's college. Of course, we're having issues with that, too.

He's supposed to go part-time this summer, but they say before he can attend full-time he has to take an orientation. Well, the orientation date they gave is after the start of the summer semester, and they have his registration locked so he can't register for any classes. I'm having him call up and ask what is going on, today.

Well I got a rejection notice that says:

Your application package was submitted with a single remittance and one or more of the applications were unacceptablein the package for the reason specified on the related notice of action. Please correct the flawed application and resubmit the application package with the appropriate fees.

That's what it says for my AOS application, it says the same thing with my EAD, and for the AOS I filed for my daughter it says that my signature is not valid, I signed it once for my daughter because she is under 14, I didn't know that I had to sign it on both lines.

It's very dissapointing really.

I assume that they want a separate check for everything, I thought that one check for all would be ok.

I think you should probably remit a check for each of the different applications that you're filing. For AOS, I know you can combine the AOS fee and the biometrics fee into one check for $395. I'm not sure how the EAD works, as we didn't file that one, ourselves. So, I would suggest doing one check for your AOS + biometrics, one check for your daughter's AOS + biometrics, and one for your EAD, and make sure it's attached directly to each application.
