Traffic ticket after interview (split)

I recieved a speeding ticket AFTER my Interview and BEFORE my oath ceremony. Although, I was driving 59 over 40 but the officer dropped it to 50 over 40. My oath is on the 14th of feb and my court date is on the 6th. 

 

Should i pay the fine - $196? OR

Should i go to the court date and see if the charges can be reduced? OR

Should i postpone the court date so that it falls AFTER Oath ceremony?

 

I have the option for defensive driving but the process is too tedious and i might not be able to complete it before the 6th. 

What can i do to pay as little as possible, stop the points deduction on my driving record, and most importantly, not give USCIS any excuse to delay my naturalization certificate. I also hope not to sky rocket my insurance premium. My last traffic ticket was back in 2015. 

 

Any help would be highly appreciated.

You can do whatever rocks your boat, but you'll have to disclose that ticket on the I-445 when lining up at the Oath Ceremony. An I.O. will have a look at the ticket, most likely make a smart a** comment, then sign off on it. That's it.

Go to court date on the 6th. Disclose ticket before Oath Ceremony. You will be fine as long as you keep it simple.
