My mom was a foodie. She went as press to the Pillsbury bake off,  National Chicken council cook off, and many others. Interviewed Aretha Franklin and many other famous people and included some of their famous recipes in the cook book she wrote.

When I get some home time on the desk top I will try to post some of the more interesting recipes.

My favorite is Hershel walkers favorite chocolate Pound Cake.

There is a chicken Tetrazanni recipe that is one of my favs

Two immigrants to the U.S., just off the boat, walked the streets of New York City.  They marveled at all that they beheld in their new country, and they discussed their lives to come.  "I have heard that Americans eat dogs," one said.  "Strange," said his friend, "but if we are to be Americans, we must do as the Americans do."

Just then, they came upon a hot-dog vendor on the corner.  "Two dogs, please!" the hungry immigrants said.  The vendor, only too happy to oblige, handed them two orders wrapped in aluminum foil.  The immigrants raced to a park bench, sat down, and eagerly began unwrapping their "dogs."

The first immigrant looked at his order and paused in shock.  After several seconds of stunned silence, he murmured to his friend, "What part did YOU get?"

LOL, this made me laugh out loud, hilarious!

Does anyone here besides me make their own pasta?  I started doing this about 4 years ago, and MAN, what a difference it can make in a meal!  My noodles are simple, either cut from a sheet, or I use my hand-crank pasta machine to cut spaghetti or fettuccini shaped noodles.  But I can add spices to the dough such as fresh basil, garlic, etc.  Very tasty.

The first time I made up a batch, my wife hovered over me, and asked me a few time why I was “doing all that work” when I could just open a package from the store and cook it”.  After the first round came out of the pot, and she tasted a plain noodle, she was sold.  I think we ate the first two batches one strand at a time, with no sauce or anything on them.

Shrimp Alfredo is on the menu tomorrow...

I'm still planning to make my own ravioli. I just need the cutter and I can't find one in the regular stores.

Do you also make the sauce yourself? I don't know how people can eat the sauce in jars and cans. It seems everything that's processed has a ton of sugar added.

Shrimp Alfredo is my favorite, I make it at least twice a month.

Yes, I forgot to quote you

Yeah, I never knew who that was, until I asked my husband.

Yes, I make the sauce from scratch.  Various meats; ground beef of course, but also sausage, deer meat, moose meat, bison...

Usually a half-day affair with my sauce, often I will make it the day prior so it can sit overnight.

Gonna make this Alfredo with some fresh-made yogurt. :)

Also, on the ravioli... though I haven’t made any yet, one way to do it would be to just sheet your dough, cut it into rectangles with one being slightly larger (the top), then just marking the dough with a knife, making say 2” squares.  Put a spoon of your fillings in the middle of those squares, then lay the top dough over it, very gently.  (I would do one row at a time, maybe two?). Cut the “lumps” into individual sections with a butter knife or pizza cutter, and crimp with a fork if needed (in case the knife didn’t seal well enough.  Might work, ya think?
