Just wanted to update y'all who know about our RFIE, we recieved it on Saturday which is asking for i864 tax return for me. I was pretty sure I submitted an explanation as to why I was not required to submit a tax return beacuse I didn't work the past 3 years in the UK and was not in the U.S. also. Is there anything I can do besides writing another explanation?

We had to do this for one year (2016). We gave our reasons in the additional information section at the end of the form. We also drafted a separate letter stating our reasons and sent it with I-864. On top of this, we attached the IRS tax return transcript which obviously said no taxes files for 2016. We haven't heard anything from them yet regarding this so we're hoping they are satisfied.

Folks,

Had my interview on August 2.  We had a really nice lady who made the process lovely.  First, we swore in, then she went file-by-file and verified our names, birth date and address, plus collected our medicals  Then, she proceeded to ask questions that were on the I-485, she asked about 10 of them.  After that she informed us that the EB1 green card quota was used up for the fiscal year and we'd have to wait till October (USCIS new fiscal year) to gain our green cards.  So, let the wait continue.  The whole interview, which started on time, was about 25 minutes.

Hope this helps!

Wow. That's awesome. Its just wait for the Green card. Can you please confirm your EB1 category? Is it Managerial? Also what is your nationality if I may ask?. I filed mine on Feb 20th under EB1 Managerial and I got my EAD/AP combo card on June 3rd. I am from India and I have not heard back anything since then. My local office is Los Angeles County. Just curious

Just got done with my Infopass Appointment - the IO mentioned that he didn't want to open my file since all my cases were just assigned to an officer on July 20. Guess that is good news.

Also, he mentioned not to worry about my DOB on the I-485. He said I did a good thing by sending out the Information to the NBC with all the documentation. If anything is incorrect, they would send me an RFE or would just ask me during the interview for any update.

He also mentioned that since my case was just assigned to an IO/Adjudicator (and he/she has the responsibility for all I-485, I-131 and I-765), I should expect something soon with the EAD/AP combo card.

Feeling a little relieved! Hoping I get something in the mail or a change in status online soon. Fingers crossed!

Another upadte on my case..Just got the following in my email:

As of August 7, 2018, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXXXX, for an interview.

We will schedule your interview and send you a notice.

Questions for y'all:

1. Will the mailed notice have the scheduled interview date? Any way to track ETA for the same?

2. Haven't received any update on my EAD/AP combo, yet. What should I do? I called, they didn't let me through with a Tier2 officer. Spoke with the Tier1 person, and standard answer: you are within processing time, and your case is on track!

Went for an infopass, as I previously mentioned in this thread (quoted above).

3. How will this work, if the interview happens before the EAD/AP combo processing? Is there an opportunity to expedite?

I have had a job offer and they waited for me till July to get the EAD , I was able to convince them that Ill have mine soon , now if it is going to take 2 more months to get the EAD I will have to start my job search process from the start . please let me know about your cases , I'm just losing hope at this point

Yes, there will be the date and time and location address on the notice.

I also didnt get any update for my EAD/AP, but i already received interview notice. Some friends here told me not to worry since Im going to have interview soon.

3. How will this work, if the interview happens before the EAD/AP combo processing? Is there an opportunity to expedite?

If interview happens before EAD/AP --- If you passed the interview then you will get a Green Card, then you don't need to EAD/AP anymore since the Green Card will replace them.

Yes you will receive an email letting you know your interview was scheduled and mail you a letter with the date and time.

No ETA unfortunately, could be weeks, months, depends on your local office and luck.

2. Haven't received any update on my EAD/AP combo, yet. What should I do? I called, they didn't let me through with a Tier2 officer. Spoke with the Tier1 person, and standard answer: you are within processing time, and your case is on track!

Try contacting your local congressman/senator to see if they can get some info on your behalf or look for a job and try to expedite with a job offer

3. How will this work, if the interview happens before the EAD/AP combo processing? Is there an opportunity to expedite?

if the interview happens before the EAD unless your case is held for review, you would not need the EAD and it will not be issued, the green card will be sufficient to start working
