Nobody with any idea about priority dates?😢

What’s actually a priority date? The date the documents were submitted, received, routed or NAO1 issuance date?

I would go with the receipt date that is in your first NOA letter. That’s what we did.

Yea for sure. So the new USCIS website didn't update this information but surprisingly the old case tracker has already updated.

Thanks man, that’s nice of you. I want to ask how you got this notice. Did you activate this option to receive emails from USCIS or something? I did receive a text message notification that my I-485 AOS case has been updated but when I tried to access it the notorious user “user-defined error” glitch popped up and since then I have been unable to access my case. You can imagine the frustration. I did called USCIS and the told me my case was ready to be scheduled for an interview. Below is the text message I received on April 08th

My receipt date shows February 02 but my NAO1 issuance date shows February 11th. This makes it a bit confusing to me

Issuance date. That’s the date it was issued. It can never be the date the case was received

Look at your NOA1 for i-485 or i-130, there should be a window besides receipt date called "priority date".

Today I woke up and received the email from USCIS saying "testing and Interview". Super excited! LA office has been faster than I thought. Finger crossed to get the official letter as soon as possible.

Feb 12  package sent

Feb 21  App received

Mar 13  Biometrics done

Apr 19 Testing and Interview

Congratulations! Are you filing from San Bernadino office?

There’s nothing on the Priority date box on my NAO1. If looking at PD per the above form from USCIS, then it’s April 04 2017 when we started the K1 Visa process

If everyone contributes, this would be a great way of keeping a pulse as to how the various offices are processing the applications. One suggestion would be to include columns for RFIE notice received, response sent, and acknowledged.

I've updated our dates. I haven't updated this forum yet, but our interview is scheduled for 5/14 in the Chicago office. Updated chain of events:

  • Started preparing application packet    01/14/2018
  • Submitted applications via FedEx (I-130, I-130A, I-485, I-864, I-131)    02/06/2018
  • Applications received by USCIS    02/07/2018
  • Electronic NOA's received for I-130, I-485, and I-131    02/17/2018
  • Biometrics Appointment notice received for 03/06/2018    02/17/2018
  • Biometrics Completed (walk-in)    03/05/2018
  • Update to I-485 Application status on website: RFIE sent out    03/05/2018
  • Received RFIE for Birth Certificate    03/13/2018
  • Sent RFIE with new Birth Certificate    03/19/2018
  • USCIS received RFIE response    03/22/2018
  • USCIS acknowledged receipt of RFIE response on website (status update)    03/23/2018
  • USCIS acknowledged correction of name on website (status update)    03/24/2018
  • Courtesy Letter for I-693 Received    04/02/2018
  • Received email advising of I-485 status change to "Testing and Interview"    04/09/2018
  • Received interview letter for May 14th at 11:15 AM in Chicago USCIS office    04/14/2018

How did you correct your name? I have these worries about my name order; the name order on my passport was wrongly put. So the order is different from the one on my birth certificate. However, we’ve been using the order of name on my birth certificate through out this process. But because my K1 visa was issued on the same passport, my I-94 form has this order. But all my other documents since K1 have the correct order on my birth certificate. My question is, should I call USCIS to correct this now or let them correct it during my interview. I didn’t want to change the name format for fear of confusion between my K1 application documents and AOS application documents. I’ll gladly listen to each and everyone’s advice here

We called them, and they provided a request # which was later reflected on my account history through the portal.

I would recommend calling them as soon as possible.

My name is wrong too. Misspelled. When I went for the biometrics appt, the manager told me to get it changed by the officer during the interview. Another option was to do an info pass and get an officer to change it, but there is never an available appointment in the Houston office.

Unfortunately, I do not know if this means my name will be wrong on the EAD card and social security card. Noa1 for i485 was wrong, but for i765 it was right. Biometrics letter was misspelled too.
