In this case I suggest you find a co-sponsor. Well, I’m still waiting for mine to be delivered.

Then kindly write a very polite letter to them explaining why your sponsor meets the 125% poverty line with the same supporting documents

I suggest you resubmit all supporting document and include a letter to explain how supporting documents (IRS tax transcript, W2/1099, employment letter, paystubs from last six months) coordinately prove that your sponsor meets the poverty line and he will continue to make beyond the line. That's what I expect to reply.

So I just received my own RFIE and it’s requesting for the tax documents, bank statements, pay stubs and W2 for the most recent year of my sponsor and if they don’t meet the 125% poverty line, we must look for a co-sponsor. However, what I’m taking home from this letter is the fact that USCIS mainly looks for line 22 on the Form 1040 Tax document to determine if the gross annual income meets the poverty line limit. So folks look out for this before submitting. Thanks and God bless us!

I think I recall you saying your spouse is employed and self employed, right?  I wonder if something went amiss at USCIS end.

I second this, although, i would be tempted to give USCIS a call or make an infopass appointment before sending anything in.  Does your husband have any children or other dependents?  Just trying to see the bigger picture as to what may have happened.  My husband makes enough to be my sponsor but we added a joint sponsor as read that USCIS can discretionary as to whether they are sufficient to sponsor you.

The thing here is not how much your husband makes the thing here is does the income on line 22 if the 1040 document meet the poverty limit?  A house of three like mine must have $25099 or above to meet the 125% limit. So look out for your house number and the line 22 of Form 1040
