Current timeline below:

Started preparing application packet: 01/14/2018
Submitted applications via FedEx (I-130, I-130A, I-485, I-864, I-131): 02/06/2018
Received by USCIS: 02/07/2018
Electronic NOI's received for I-130, I-485, and I-131: 02/17/2018

Question regarding the Biometrics exam. Do you have to go at a specific time/place? Is there a deadline on when this needs to be complete?

You don't have to go to the biometrics appt the exact time, there's early walk in available for most of the ASC locations. And people said you don't need to go to the exact location, but I didn't have any experiment of that.

There's no deadline, however if you miss the scheduled appointment printed on letter, you have to reschedule.

Yea I just came back from ASC. Google maps shows they close at 3pm but the door has 4pm. However when I got there (2pm) they got no one.

So I'm done with this step within 15 min, probably the fastest step in the whole process. Lol

Lol nice. Small cheers on a long journey. Congrats

Awesome! Which asc in Houston did you go to?If you don't mind, can you tell us exactly what happened in those 15 mins? :)

I'm kinda worried because my name is spelled wrongly on my NOA. I just sent a request to change it, and it says i will hear back from uscis in about amonth. I hope my bio letter has the correct name so I don't get turned away from the bio appt at asc.

Went to the one in Sugarland.

Starting with check-in, everything else was straight forward but I used married name in my AOS application, so the guard had me go to the officer to check my last name etc. I probably waited 5-10 min there. After the officer gave it a go, I went back to the guard to get an assigned number. No one was taking the bio info at the time so I went straight to the working station. It was like a DMV set up, you sit down to take a picture, sign at a Board, then give the hands to staff there. They help with moving your hand/finger around to collect all ten fingerprints. All was easy. At the end they had you fill out a survey and you can leave.

I don't know if you can still go to the Bio appt if the name was typed wrong in their end, my case was a little different here. Good luck!

Ahh, it's clear now. Did not think of that. I did not notice other months being split like that.

Quick side note: please make sure you take the I-797 Notice of Action biometrics appointment letter and Photo ID with you to the ASC (Application Support Center).  You can not do a walk in or scheduled appointment without these documents :).

You will receive a notice in the mail with the location, date and time of your scheduled appointment, as arranged by USCIS.  You do not need to schedule the appointment.  If the date is not suitable, people have been successful in doing a "walk in" appointment, prior to the one scheduled, by taking the biometrics appointment notice and their photo ID with them.  Hope this helps.  Feel free to ask if you have any more questions :).
