Although I personally don't use mayo on fries, the idea doesn't really sound all bad. I usually use A1 steak sauce on my fries. I know some people who dip their fries in milkshakes or ice cream ... now that kinda makes me nauseous.

MMMM... I love to dip fries into my frosty at Wendy's. Haven't been there in AGES though!

I was just thinking about Garlic chips with cheese-I had them for the first time last April, now when I get to Dublin that is the first thing I want(well after my man of course).

Curry chips, or a special(not sure if that is what it's called)but it has chips, curry and rice. I just had some in Boston-not the same :(

I also love vinegar and loads of salt!!!! Brown gravy is also amazing on fries. I am STARVING now.

The people that come from countries that use Mayo on fries, do people even use ketchup and if they do what would you put ketchup on?

I remember when I was in Brazil (Sao Paulo) a lot of places I went to eat wouldn't have ketchup.

We have ketchup too and use it for fries, sausages, burgers... and my brother and uncles have a penchant for mashing their potatoes with ketchup...or "red sauce" as we also call it!

When it comes to using "red sauce" (catsup), desis rule!

I can remember using it:

  • (as a child) for accompaniment to iddly, dosai
  • accompaniment to tikki, samosa, pakora
  • AS the middle of a toasted/grilled sandwich

I knew this was a practice in various parts of Europe but didn't know it was very popular in the Philippines, at least where my wife is from because she and her family do that all the time. She always prefers mayonnaise.

I usually eat my fries dipped in Mayo. Occassionally I go for the ranch dressing dipping, but I prefer mayo. I'm not a big ketchup fan, maybe that's why. It has to be REAL mayo tho... not that miracle whip or generic #######.

I used to dip my fries in my chocolate shakes. A LONG time ago. I remember it being quite good actually.
