I also think that H1B will be a great option as far as your employer is keenly interested in you. Unlike F1 visa, a job visa allows you to work in the USA for 6 years.  After getting your h1B you can ask your employee to file for a green card on your behalf. Anyway, better consult an immigration expert as the procedure can be tricky.

Hi Ludda! Thank you for your reply! Yeah, it's not really easy to stay in the US unless you are married to an American citizen. Even with the H1B is difficult because it's a lottery...I am so glad that my company is sponsoring me, I am hoping I will get the visa so that I can plan a longer stay and then try the green card! or even better, meet someone and get married

Talk to your DSO about CAP GAP.  That is a bridge between OPT and H-1B start date.
