Hello people!!! I have been having a few issues with my AOS based on a k1 visa . 5 months ago I file my AOS then uscis sent me a RFE,they asked me to find a joint sponsor that could cover the poverty guidelines because my wife didnt cover it. So the point is that we live far from her family and she doesnt get along with them either to ask them to be my joint sponsor. So what we want to do is to add a friend of us that is willing to be our sponsor but we have been having a little bit of issues because he didnt file taxes on year 2016 and that is what they are asking to add if I find a new joint sponsor. so I want to know how to do in this case.  what papers can I add there steap of a tax return paper that shows he earn enough to  support me.

There isn't a way around the tax return requirement. Your joint-sponsor should file his 2016 return (unless there is no return because he didn't need to file one, though if he had income in 2016 he would generally need to file a return).

Your other option is to find a different co-sponsor or for your wife to try to increase her income.

But he didnt need to file tax return he never file them and he said that he doesnt want to file tax return either. and to find a joint sponsor it is not very easy. more when we are far from both families.

And your friend can also file for 2017 now.

the thing is that he doesnt need to file tax this year either and wont do it I know it is more frustrate it to me but I cant make someone do that just to make me a favor. it just very very frustrating. and if my wife start to raise her incomes this year I would have to refile everything next year around february when she file her new tax return.  and I dont know what status I will get because it is gonna be 2 years since we got married thru the k1 visa
