Hi Everyone,

I am an American citizen and I have filed the Adjustment of Status(AOS) application for my husband in September, 2017. We also applied for EAD/AP (work authorization/advance parole) combo card along with application.

It has been 130 days since our NOA1 (Sep 18th 2017) and my husband and I are starting to worry. Has anyone else taken this long for their EAD/AP?
We have submitted a service request today (Jan 29th 2018) and I was wondering how long does it usually take to hear back from a service request? How long is the processing time now? (We are in Massachusetts).

Thank You guys

Sep 15th 2017 - application submitted (I130, I131, I765 & I485) -

Sep 18th 2017 - NOA 1 Day 0

Oct 19th 2017 - biometrics done Day 31

Jan 29th 2018 - Service request submitted for EAD/AP card

Our EAD/AP was just approved a few weeks ago, and we also waited 131 days (receipt date: Sept 12).

We made several service requests online that went unanswered. Finally we made another one over the phone and that one was marked 'complete' about 10 days later. The EAD/AP was then approved the following week.

Lots of people have had various service requests go unanswered though. I'm not even sure if our service request was related to our eventual approval.

EAD/AP processing times are taking a bit longer now, I'd say the average wait time is now anywhere from 75-160 days. There are still a handful of August filers waiting along with September filers.

I was able to see the status on my USCIS account. If you create an account, you can put in your case numbers and can opt in to receiving texts when there is an update to your case(s).

My biometrics done on oct 11th

Field office is Pennsylvania.

Hopefully we will hear something soon.

I heard people saying sometimes the approval notification doesn't show up online but they get USPS mail so gotta keep checking too.

I talked with tier2 , he said your case is within processing time which is today updated to September 1.

I see. I think different office locations have different processing time. so it seems like you should be getting ur ead card soon since they are processing sep1 now. I am not sure which date our state is in now. what is tier2?

EAD and AP cases are processed by national benefits center(Missouri). Only green card is processed by local offices.

Whenever your SR exceeds 30 day period then you can call uscis and ask the representative to transfer the call to tier2 officer( immigration officer).

In my case he just gave me the info what is available on the website(current processing time).

For everyone the EAD processing time is September 1 now. ( including your case and mine) but the actual thing is some of the October filers already got their ead. So dont know how true is the processing times mentioned.

Thank you for the explanation. yes. i totally understand how you are feeling. our lawyer actually told me the same thing that some people filed their application after us but already got their EAD card. our lawyer said that each officer are working on a number of cases, so it is possible that some officer are faster than the others which results in why some cases in oct has got their EAD card.

Well anyway. hopefully you and my husband both get their EAD/AP card soon. its really frustrating that he can't work or travel.

"September 1" date is as of November 30, 2017 (as shown above the table on "USCIS Processing Time Information" site), so the actual current processing date is sometime after that. VJ's estimate for EAD shows November dates:

But the immigration officer on call told me that uscis processed cases upto the date that's been mentioned on their site.

He asked me to keep checking and contact again when your filing date exceeds processing dates.
