Hi everyone! Me (from Philippines) and my Fiancé were about to file for a k1 visa. All the requirements looks good not until we received our W2 Form for 2017. I was a J1 participant last 2016-2017 in the hotel my fiancé is working. My W2 Form says my wages for year 2017 was $18,600+. And my Fiancé (the petitioner) was only $14,200+, and the income requirement for K1 Visa is a minimum of $16,240. So in short my Fiancé is short for about $2000. Is there anything we can do aside from co-sponsor? My Fiancé said his 2 previous W2 Forms were more than the minimum.

Does he have any property?  Generally the Embassy in the Philippines doesn't even ask but always have the paperwork ready in case they do.  The beneficiaries income doesn't matter.  Only the petitioners does.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

Money in the bank may help. Now I hope someone else who knows better may chime in but I believe you can mix it with income. But it has to be 3 or 5 times of whatever is not enough.

if it is -2000 then 3-5 times of it in the account, so  6000-10000$.

He have his car (tho second hand, but paid full). He's just renting an apartment by himself.
