Anyone else come across this?  My HR department said they only provide verbal verification of employment unless contacted in writing from an outside source.  What am I supposed to do in this instance??

Copy of your offer letter or contract + recent pay stubs will do same.

Ok that should work then, the offer letter is pretty comprehensive.  If I have that + the signed/stamped letter from my bank showing balances,  should I include my 2017 W-2 as well?

When is your interview scheduled?

Haven't gotten that far yet.  I just sent an RFE response today.  I visit her in two weeks though so I am hoping to bring all the necessary financial documents down with me to help speed things up if possible.  Mailing things to Brazil takes forever

Usually if you have the NVC case number and able to book an appointment for the interview, the consulate will ask for the financial documents at least 30 days from the interview date. The response for the RFE will take a week to a month also, it would be of no use to give her the documents during your visit.

You can use your Offer letter, W2s and form 1040 or tax transcripts, 6 months pay stubs and bank statement.

Not a good idea. At all.

Why is that?

Now of day  it seems as if  some Embassy don't ask for Employment letter or W-2's or affadivat of support like the I-134, they will tell you it was never really ever needed.

What weight does said letter carry? It only repeats what you already put on the form, not verifies it. The issue is it provides no value.

I’m on mobile so I can’t see, but I’m assuming the OP is going through USEM, right? They very rarely ask for the I-134 or supporting eveidence now. In the past (>7-8 years now?), they did regularly ask for it. And before the I-864 came out, it was a requirement.

I don't know where the OP is from

In Manila in 2008 they asked for it, but it seems for about 2 years or more they don't ask for it.

Ah, okay. Yes, some other embassies take the I-134 much more strictly and that information is reviewed closely.

Sounds about right. I think in 2010 or so is when USEM COs stopped asking for it on most cases.
