We had out interview on Friday for adjustment of status. The officer was very friendly and he said we provided all the documents he needs. However he gave us a paper saying the case is pending review. The case has not been updated on the website yet.

Anyone who has done the interview got this paper? How long after that the case status changes on the website?

We got the same thing. We ended up getting the card in the mail within three weeks and notice in the mail within two.

I had my interview last Friday. It went super well although the officer didn’t approve us on the spot because he was missing my approved I-129F in his files. I offered to give a copy of mine but he said he needed the one from uscis. Soooo while they’re figuring it out, we’re just waiting. How frustrating. He said it should take 2 weeks maximum to hear from them and that “nothing is guaranteed until he has the full file to review”... As if we didn’t wait long enough. Whatever.

Same thing happened to me and my wife...  Maybe there's an issue going on with the SoCal office and Santa Ana.  We were told there's a hold with her i-129f and that we would have to wait on that before we could move on.  If you don't mind me asking, who was your interviewer?

Wow same for me. That’s crazy. How annoying huh?

Have you heard since? When was your interview?

It was Officer Rose! What about you?

We might have had the same interviewer.  Was her office at the end of the office with a lot of foreign decorations inside?  She was nice, but asked a lot of questions (strict and stuck to policy).  She made my wife nervous which caused her to hesitate on a few questions, but the officer told her to breathe and not to be nervous.  She had an accent too.  We haven't heard anything yet... This Weds will be the 2 week mark.

Mine was a man. Young like my husband and I. I am guessing they probably pick officers according to who will relate to you more.

He was very nice and chill. He followed the procedure and tried to make us comfortable.

I am sorry your wife was nervous. I understand, I was kinda nervous too somehow.

Let me know when you hear something. Crazy that we have to wait... AGAIN.

Thank you for letting me know. That’s reassuring. They were also missing your I-129F?

No. We weren't missing anything since our case is AOS based on marriage.

The i129f packet allows fiancé to arrive in the US via K1 visa. This was previously done before the AOS packet was sent out. I believe you should have also done this since your AOS is based on marriage.  @Marion and I both couldn’t move on to the approval stage due to uscis having some kind of issue with our previous i129f packets (for me it was a copy issue that they hadn’t yet received). Were you told why they couldn’t approve your AOS during the interview?

They told me there is nothing missing with my package. I didn't come to the US under fiance visa so this doesn't apply to me. The officer said I don't have any missing documents.

Now that were on the home stretch of the journey (Greencard in hand). We are talking about bringing the in-laws for a visit. Anyone else start the process? Wondering if its easy enough that we can do it on our own or should we hire a lawyer.

For a visit they just need to do an ESTA online. It’s $15 and they print it out before their trip.

Hi @Marion!

I literally just got a text message that said, "New Card Is Being Produced"!  We're sooooooo happy.  But we have a slight issue (maybe not an issue).  She leaves to her home country next week for about three months.  We don't know if she'll legally be allowed to leave and re-enter the US...  She has her Advance Parole card, but after approval I've heard it's no longer valid...

Congrats! You must be so relieved. What was your interview date again? So that I have an idea! We should be next hopefully.

I am thinking you will get it in time. If not you can always ship her the green card for her return :)

Call uscis to make sure because things you hear are not always correct and as they want it. I am sure it is fine :)
