I'm sure it will be! This is for the biometrics, right?

Nope, we did the biometrics in March.  This interview on May 10 will be for her green card.

We sent my wife's AOS packet out at the end of January, and had her biometrics done mid February, and .  We're still getting the "User-defined Error", USCIS case status site still has an update date of 3/27/18 with blank information when clicked on (after logging into account), and DHS site still has the "Received on February 2nd" for AOS (Case Status site and DHS site give different information).  EAP and AP packets still have "Received on.." on both DHS and Case Status sites with no updates on both.  Still have not been able to reach USCIS, never received call backs except for one that really led me nowhere... Tried getting her a DL (she has a SSN card) to no avail.  We're pretty much stuck in a cloud of mystery with no ability to move until something happens on their side :(

I’m also stuck in the “user-defined error” glitch with more than two weeks ago and counting. I did call  USCIS during the early days of the error and they said my case was ready to be scheduled for interview. But there’s  been nothing like an appointment Letter since then. I can only suggest you call USCIS as many time as you can please

Thanks! Yeah... I've been calling and calling, but it's difficult because I work, she has difficulty with English, and I don't have any more vacation/sicks days left.  The only time I have available now is after 4:30 and I've only gotten the "we'll call you back any time Mon-Friday from 8am to 5pm"... It's tough, I guess I'm stuck with playing the waiting game until something comes in the mail.  We haven't received any form of email, text, or physical mail at all as well :(

Damn, everyone is getting their appointment dates so fast! I am still waiting on mine and getting that user-defined error which is frustrating. However, from the myaccount.gov site, we got an update that says "We canceled your interview" without having an appointment yet!

Sorry not been on this thread much since my initial post. We also got the user defined error about a week ago (I had my biometrics beginning of April) we called USCIS this morning and the lady said that it means I’m put in the que for an interview but it will take between 11-24 months?! We live in Atlanta and I guess it’s a busy area but damn.. is this just one of those things they said with the i-129 when they were months off the actual processing times? Also, have anyone who filed for AP received theirs at all? We tried to expedite mine as I need to pick up my son from the U.K. but still nothing. We have an appointment at the info centre next months but I’m just a little bit clueless with the actual processing times here.

Hey, anyone in here had an info-pass recently about their case and or the user-defined errors?

Hi Simon!

Yeah so I just got to my infopass and inquired about my I485 status and was told that my case is ready to be schedule for an interview since March 21. However since my local office is taking up to 10 months for the interview date, i’ll just have to wait.

And also to add that as per the IO EAD and AP will now take 5-7 months to be process.

Thanks so much for the information. It’s so valuable. I hope we have our interviews scheduled as soon as possible because the wait time is beginning to weigh negatively on me as times go by.

I don't think it will take that long for you to get an interview.  We started getting the User Defined Error on March 26th and received our Interview letter on April 21st with the interview letter dated April 9th (2 weeks after the User Defined Error started).  I think the date range that you were given is based on the new USCIS Processing Times website, which can be found here:  https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/#mainContent.  If we were to go by that for our field office (Chicago), it states that our processing time should be between 11 months and 29.5 months and the current Case Inquiry date for Chicago for Family Based I-485s is September 12, 2015.  Obviously that didn't happen for us, our package was delivered on February 7th and we are having our interview on May 14th, which is only 3 months and 1 week since receipt, so I wouldn't worry too much about the date range you were given.

We didn't file for AP, just EAD, but it looks like, if everything goes fine at the interview in a few weeks, that we'll have the green card in hand before they even start to process the EAD.

That’s a relief to hear. I hate that there are no set processing time in this whole process.. I mean, I feel like my life has been on hold for the last year and a half and I litterally just want to start working and also go to see my family.. pretty much just want to feel like I’m in control of my own life again.. but it is what it is. It’s always good to hear other people’s experiences though just so you get an idea of what’s happening 🤦🏼‍♀️

No worries.

Since were on the same boat we have to keep each other updated.

This waiting is like us being hybernated, we can’t do anything but I’m not complaining though at least we’re with our husband/wife.

Patience is a virtue.

Have a blessed day to everyone.

Sorry to bother you again. Did the IO say anything about the user-defined error(s) like how long it’s gonna go on or if we’ll ever be able to see the progress of our cases online again? Well, I read somewhere that those experiencing the errors were deliberately blocked by USCIS via their IP addresses due to high volumes of case status check online. I wonder how truthful is this.

She told me that there is a system glitch with the case tracker and they are fixing it but will take time.

We will just have to wait for it or wait for the mail if there is any update.
