Wow,  so fast.  Did you expedite your application?

No expedite.  The letter was a complete surprise. Nothing on the various websites or apps until the day after arrival.   And a happy one at that!

I can assure you that you're not alone.  There are still a lot of people from January waiting for their interviews as well.  Patience is the game, but you will get there eventually.

Dear filers I have these worries about my name order and need advice from you guys: the name order on my passport was wrongly put. So the order is different from the one on my birth certificate. However, we’ve been using the order of name on my birth certificate through out this process. But because my K1 visa was issued on the same passport, my I-94 form has this order. But all my other documents since K1 have the correct order on my birth certificate. My question is, should I call USCIS to correct this now or let them correct it during my interview. I didn’t want to change the name format for fear of confusion between my K1 application documents and AOS application documents. I’ll gladly listen to each and everyone’s advice here

Well, I guess I get the honor of being the 2nd February filer to get an interview letter :-)

Opened the mailbox and saw a letter from USCIS.  I had assumed this was in regards to our change of address, so opened it up and, Nope, it's the interview letter.  Interview is scheduled for May 14th in Chicago with the notice dated April 9th.

So, it looks like the User Defined Error is a good thing.  That started for me on March 26th and the interview letter is dated 2 weeks after that.  So, I'm guessing that others here should soon be receiving their interview letters too.

I'm kind of shocked that it has arrived already, interview will be just over 3 months from receipt date.  Besides the USCIS error, there are no updates on our case on either USCIS's site or DHS's site.  Now we've got 3 weeks to pull the rest of the required documents together.  And now the nerves kick in.

Thanks!  Yeah, the waiting is the worst part, now that the end is in sight, there is certainly a sense of relief.  The order of this whole process makes no sense sometimes; I was just looking through the threads for the other months and saw a December filer with the same field office who is still waiting on an interview letter.  I don't know how we jumped in front of them and got an interview ahead of them, especially because Chicago tends to be a busier office.

At least most of our submission in February included documents they are asking us to bring (I693, I864, etc.) so I can just photocopy the copy I kept to bring with us.  I'll be printing off some other papers to bring (2017 tax filing, new lease with both our names, health insurance showing spouse, 401k beneficiary information, recent photos, etc.) to wrap this up.

Congrats 🙂

I also have the same case as yours, the very famous “User Defined Error” that started end of March. I’m not keeping my hopes that high as my field office is also one of the busiest.

Anyway all the best and please keep us posted. 👍

Congrats, you made it through the heck of the “user-defined error(s).” We’re still stuck in it and counting 2 weeks as of today for me. Hope I hear something soon coz it’s absolutely nerves wrecking to not be able to know what’s going on with your case though you know there’s an update on it.

I had given up hope on hearing anything anytime soon because of the User Defined Error, going through Chicago, and not seeing any updates on any of the sites.  It was definitely a surprise to see the letter today in the mail after I had done my usual case tracking with no changes.  I will certainly post our interview experience after we get home that day.

Yes, it was a bit frustrating when we got hit with the user defined error but, in the end, it worked out for the best for us.  Keep up the hope that you'll hear something soon; Monday would have been 4 weeks since we got the user defined error.
