Don’t be frustrated! I think USCIS has already received your RFIE and updated because it normally takes anywhere between 4 days to a week to do that. Trust me and to be sure, create and account with the DHS website and log in. You can always always receive first hand updates about your cases.

I'm still getting the "User-Defined Error" message and when clicking on the case it comes up as blank.  Both I-131 and I-765 still show the same message as before.  However the "Last Updated" date has changed to 03/27/2018 for her I-485.  We have yet to receive any form of physical mail or e-mail, and all status checks online show nothing.  The Case Status Online account comes up blank, and the USCIS account login page shows last update when received... Really confused....

Well i see that you dont have a tineline, so I don't know if you have an RFE. If you did, the update was probably that they received your reponse, if you did not, I would call USCIS. Read in the january thread a lot of cases like that, they called them and were told they were mailed a interview notice.

Hi!

I really appreciate the reply back!  We never received an RFE and have tried calling in the past only to be led to incompetent employees who led us nowhere.  I would like to give them a call once more, but it's difficult since my wife needs to be next to be in order to give permission (I work and her English is not the best).  The last time I called, a man repeated every sentence 3 times right after the initial sentence, and told us a tier 2 employee would call (which never happened...).  I'm not really sure if we are considered part of the January or February timeline.  We sent out her AOS packet mid January.  Her I-765 and I-131 were received late January, but her I-485 was received early February even though both were sent out at the same time in the same packet.

I really think that might be your interview notice!!! If I were you, I would call just because it would be on my thoughts al the time making me miserable, but... you should get the hardcopy of the notice soon!!! Good luck.🍀

Did anyone get emails from DHS saying the there's no update on the petition and they're still reviewing it, also the last update us on **** date?

You have 'inactivity notification' on in your settings. It will send you this update automatically every two weeks if there is no change in your case. I turned mine off just to not get my hopes up that I had an update.

I got notifications from this website https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/, it's USCIS official website. How do I turn the notifications off if you're talking about this website?

Yes it's this site. Just go into settings and uncheck the box for inactivity notifications. The website sends out a generic notification every 2 weeks otherwise which appears to be what you received

Anyone know how long it takes them to update when they receive your RFIE?

I've been so calm throughout this process but after getting that ridiculous RFE, and now having no update that they have even received it, I'm beginning to get pretty frustrated. For the amount of money we pay for this service the least they could do is handle your case properly and update you along the way.

Hey, I think I got the same RFIE as you? It's a very generic letter, what exactly did yours say?

Mine states that 'you have submitted secondary evidence and/or a birth affidavit as proof of your birth record. However, the evidence you have submitted is insufficient. Examples of acceptable secondary evidence may....'

Did yours begin that way? I'm confused as to the issue!

No, this is a different RFIE evidence that is usually sent out if you provided a short form birth certificate or a record of birth that is not the official birth certificate.

Did you submit the long form birth certificate listing both parents? I have heard someone else say they received the same RFIE as you even though they sent a copy of the long form birth certificate. USCIS seem to be throwing RFIEs out for no reason.

My RFIE evidence began something like 'please submit a foreign birth certificate along with an English translation' even though my BC is clearly in English since I am English lol.

Ah, okay.

Yeah, I submitted the long form one, both parents names on it etc. So what the heck do I do? This is ridiculous.

It will usually take 3-4 days for you to get a notification from the day your document was recieved, which is based on my experience.

I know how you feel! I went through the same mind battle of 'what the heck do I send them'.

I would resend your birth certificate and just add in a cover letter stating  'this is a copy of the original long form birth certificate, in English, issued by the governing authority of the United Kingdom'. This is basically what I did for mine but put more emphasis on it already being in English lol.

You could also ask around in the JAN forum to see if anyone had this RFIE before you. Since I haven't got an update on my case yet and wouldn't want to tell you that this will be fully sufficient.

Thank you. It's been 5 days since they received the document. But it was Easter so I'll be patient.
