Yep! Definitely take your marriage certificate. I changed my last name and they asked for proof.!

Will it be a problem that my marriage certificate shows my maiden name only?

Had the biometrics today. Very easy. 3 minute wait. Couple of photographs and then fingerprints.   Staff was nice but unable to provide any information for the million dollar question; how much longer of a wait?

Hi everyone! I'm no where near filing AoS yet but I have a question that maybe somebody on here can answer :) I have researched and understand that a copy of my birth certificate is needed when we file AoS (I'm the beneficiary). But is there anything else that I might need, that will be a lot easier for me to get before I make the move? I guess it might vary from country to country, but let me know if you have any advice. Given an approved visa, I'm planning to make the move sometime this summer. Thanks in advance.

Hi! :) if You will be filing for AOS of course You need your birth certificate but also a translatoon. You can do it by yourself and let somebody familiar with both languages sign it for You, I guess it will be easier to find somebody like that in your country. Also take your vaccination record worksheet that You got from immigration doctor. And after you cross the border Print your i-94. You will need your noa2 but that I guess your fiance should have, other than this I guess You all set. i hope I helped :)

You definitely helped! Thank you so much. I can actually get a birth certificate in English from the Swedish tax authority (we don't really have 'original' birth certificates in Sweden, but you can get an equivalent document that's signed & stamped), so no translation should be required then (unless they want an English to English translation ;)). I will make sure to bring the vaccination records, and yep fiancé has the NOA2. Perfect! Best of luck to you with the rest of your AoS :)

No problem ;) You will be surprised how many people from UK got RFE because of their birth certificate :P they are asked to send the translations (eng to eng, isnt that crazy?), so if I was you I would just get a copy of the original plus translation, just to have a clear mind :)

I agree with @pattyandvern.  I would err on the side of caution.  If it were me I would send a copy of the birth certificate in Swedish and English on top of having a translation (so three documents total).  I would think that would lessen the chance of receiving a RFE.
