Happy to join everyone here in waiting. Our package was received on the 11th Feb, with our NOA1 coming on the 24th. We received an RFIE today which asked for a translation of my British birth certificate. There have been other people on the website that have been asked for translations of a BC that is already in English so we will follow the suit of others with this and reply to the RFIE on Monday (which happens to be the day of my biometrics appointment!).

Translation of a document what is already in english ? doesn't make sense. I can only imagine by writing a letter and clarifying the matter..

I've seen this happen so many times it's ridiculous. I'm expecting an RFE for the same thing now. English to English... like wth. Can I ask if it was particularly hard to read or anything?

In my opinion (which I realise other people may not share), it's not hard to read and I've asked family and friends who agree with me. It is hand written in cursive at times, which is the only place I could see someone getting confused.

I'm getting a friend to transcribe the birth certificate and sign it like a translation, attaching a letter to state it's in English already, providing another copy of the long form certificate and a copy of the "birth" page from my red baby book... so fingers crossed it's okay.

Oh no!! I'm not sure how that works in those situations but hopefully you will hear something soon!

It baffles me because on their website it says that a long form birth certificate from the UK listing both parents is sufficient. All UK birth certificates (to my knowledge) are hand written. They should know this by now and if they aren't going to accept them they need to at  least update their website under the UK section.

I hope it doesn't delay you too much. Im hoping that because mine is easy to read (again, like you said, just my opinion) and is printed rather than joined up, they will just accept it. At this point it seems unlikely.

Well I am confused a little, because I send the 18-pages i-485 but it was filled before the edition in december. But all they did was changing a layout a little, they didnt change No questions at the Form so I will be a little dissapointed if that was a reason for sending it alk back... but it was my fault, cause I didnt check the edition, I actually didnt know that they put edition date on bottom left corner of each page, all I checked is expiration date which say 2019 so I assumed it will be fine... I still got hope that they maybe accept it and I will receive my notifications this week. But I will be prepared if I will get all packet back. It is just so depressing to wait so long when everyone already getting their paper NOA’s ;(

Did you call them to ask them personnaly? If not, I would probably call them and ask about that issue. That's true that it doesn't make any sense to get refused if the questions are exactly the same!
