If you submitted it to UPS and you meant to submit it through USPS then the fee you paid may be incomplete and that can lead to your package being returned. You can try digging through your trash for the receipt or calling UPS or USPS and explain and seek their advice on what to do next.

No, I submitted and send it by USPS, but instead of sending it to Lockbox I send it to adress for couriers. Also in Chicago. And it got delivered. I guess Im just panicking, but I hope that if it was delivered that means that it went to the right hands.

Hopefully it won't be a problem. You can got to your local USPS office where the package was sent from and ask you to re-issue you the receipt from their record. I assume they will be able to do that. But go to the same USPS branch and besides consider it as lesson not to throw anything remotely related to your application

Hi everybody!

I've been reading the thread lately but haven't post anything yet.
Our package got delivered on Feburary 22 and we are still waiting for the NAO1. I was hoping to hear something by tomorrow!

Fingers crossed for everybody and congratulations for the ones who already got theirs!

Well, I am disappointed and discouraged. We got the whole packet back yesterday, 3 weeks after it got to Chicago. It was rejected.

Bizarrely, there is no rejection notice for I-485, just for EAD and AP but looks like the cheque never got cashed, which was the reason for rejection.
We called and found out that we apparently did nothing wrong. The cheque was in the correct amount and there was money in the bank.
The whole packet got reorganized and stapled in ways that don't make any sense to me. Like all 3 photocopies of I-94 together, 3 passport pages together etc. Why would anyone do this in this way, arrrgh. I really would like to not think that it's just someone being mean for no reason but it feels like that... :-(

ROC:  Received Jan 25 2021    NOA 1: February 25 2021 (LIN/Nebraska).    BIOMETRICS: April 30  2021

Biometrics:  April 27  Fingerprint Review Was Completed:  April 30
Case Ready to be scheduled: May 3
( that update only showed up in August! after being notified about EAD&AP )

So my case tracker has been working perfectly from the day I got the text notifications (2/28). It has now stopped recognising my case number. Great.

This happened to someone in the January filers as well:

Now I doubt you're getting the ready for interview letter already but I wouldn't worry about anything with your case/delays.  It looks like this happens from time to time, and that you will get different information from different USCIS reps when you call about your case when you have this issue, but your case keeps moving forward.  Hopefully it's just a glitch that will get fixed in a website update soon.

OMG guys I just realized that I send my packet to the adress for UPS/Fedex Courier but I was sending it by usps. What does it mean? Can it cause any problems? Tracking say it was delivered but once it got delivered I threw away tracking number...

I wouldn't worry about this too much.  I'm sure this has happened before and I'm guessing it all, ultimately, ends up in the same location.  I'm sure someone at the UPS/FedEx courier location has to go to the PO Box every day to pick up the packages that are sent there and bring them back for processing/check cashing/etc.  I'm sure your application was just added to the pile to be processed and will make it's way through just fine.

Was there any letter included explaining why they returned it and what you need to do to resubmit?  There usually is something included explaining what happened, which it sounds like you got since you said that there is a rejection notice for the EAD and AP.

I'm guessing they started to reorganize and staple based on what makes sense for them when they are processing the applications.  As they were doing that, they must have come across something that caused them to realize they couldn't accept it as is and needed to return it to you to get it fixed.

I'm sure it's rough feeling like you lost 3 weeks in the processing time but, whatever the issue, I'm sure you can get it fixed this weekend and on it's way back to Chicago.  Good luck!

Im sorry to hear that @Martella&T. That is very confusing, since you don't need to pay anything to submit AP and EAD with your AOS. Was everything on the check that you sent correct? The fee and who you made it payable to? I really can't think of any reason why they would have sent it all back unless there was something wrong with the AOS application. That is the only reason they would send the whole packet back to you.

letter is here below... it's like catch 22. No payment for EAD and they can't accept it as well because I need to show them NOA1 for I-485 which they rejected but strangely did not send me a rejection notice for it

I just don't know whether unstaple everything and put it back together in order???

Yes, everything seems correct... the amount, who was it to... I rechecked, we followed USCIS instructions on how to fill out the cheque...
We used US bank and there enough was money for it. I have no explanation right now.

The only thing I can suggest is when you return it make sure you put a very clear contents page on the front.

I used a cover page clearly stating I was applying for 3 different things. Then I had a contents page listing everything. I also included a note that just clarified I didn't send a fee because I was applying in combination with AOS (I know this isn't needed). Make sure your AOS is on top followed by the AP and EAD so they can't possibly assume you are only applying for EAD and AP.

And im sorry if you already did the things I mentioned.

I wish you a speedy turn around time for this!

Hi just curious where to check status online for AOS, AP and EAD? Is it the same place we check our petition status and same USCIS receipt number starting with WAC? Thanks a lot
