People often say "we have family who can help" but are they aware you will be out of work for 4 months or more on a K-1? If you didn't even know that then I very much doubt the relatives do. When family say they will "help", they probably think you need a place to stay for a week, or they will let you use their car until you can get your own, not that they will have to feed, clothe and house you (and pay for your medical insurance?) for 4 months or more.
