Hello family. Im just gonna be short...we aplyied (CR1) on 27 april 2017, got the NOA1 on 8 May 2017. Our case is in Nebraska. Now waiting for the approval of I-130. On the website they are at 14 february and the estimation in VJ is between 22 junuary and 7 february 2018. So does that mean that my case is almost done or i need to wait till it shows May in the USCIS website ?

Nb: whene we call USCIS they say that they are at february 14 as it is on the website !

Visa Journey estimation based on VJ members timeline. USCIS website is for everyone who applies for the visa. Not everyone applies for the visa is VJ members.

Yes i know, but because i saw many people that got their approval before it shows in the USCIS's website...(like 2 months before)

is that a general principal ? Of geting approval before the website reach them 🤔

USCIS only update their website once every like 3 months, its pretty much useless to look at. VisaJourney will give you a better idea of when to expect an approval since people are reporting approvals as they get them

you are being processed by Nebraska known for being very slow

we were in this office for 9 months and then transfered to Missouri for faster (another 5 months) processing

you can not really rely on any information as to how fast this is going to happen

depends on:

how many applications are currently being processed

how complicated the applications are

how many holidays in the time period (we just had Thanksgiving, Christmas, NY's Day, Martin Luther King day and several snow days)/ all that slows down the process

I am surprised you got any answer from USCIS as the receipt letter says "DO NOT CALL US" if we need any further infromation, we will contact you

from what we have seen all depends on the office doing your package

Yes, if you go to the top of the page and click on the tab that says "Processing Times" it's on the side of that page and updates almost daily. Like mentioned above obviously every case is different, but for me I was a March filer at Nebraska and I got my approval within a week of that page saying that they were processing my PD. Hopefully it'll be the same for you and you'll be getting your approval soon!

The VJ timeline is estimation based on VJ member timelines. USCIS isn't correct either because they only update their website every 3 to 4 months BUT even if you call USCIS they go by the information on their website. So you'd have to wait. Some people do get approved faster. I was just like you and I know how stressful it is. I was in Nebraska center for 2 months then got transferred to the Texas one, it still took a long time. I even thought I would get denied because my husband is from Egypt. But hang in there. My application got approved and is now at the NVC waiting for my embassy interview. It took about a year since I filed in October 2016 to approve my application through USCIS August 31 2017 (on my birthday haha) With NVC I was there from September till January 26. My case got done yesterday, just waiting interview. So believe me, it gets stressful but it is worth it and can be done. Maybe your spouse can visit you during that time if possible.
