The Dems have had the chance on numerous occasions to do something about DACA and they have done NOTHING but hem and haw. They love not doing anything because then they can go back to their voters and go "look they don't like Immigrants or the Dreamers". The Dems also love Illegals and Illegal immigration. That is why they don't want to curtail illegal immigration but give them sanctuary.

I have not seen any opportunity for the government to do anything about normalizing the status of DACA recipients that isn't tied to approving something else (like the border wall). Agreeing to waste billions of tax dollars on a border wall as a precondition of even starting the discussion on DACA recipients wouldn't be satisfactory to voters. It's a common tactic on both sides, but it isn't going to work here.

I'm not going to get into the false generalization that Democrats "love illegals and illegal immigration." That is patently false and argumentative.

It is easier to generalize and resort to fallacies and misleading statements to sort of "backing up" ones claim apparently - easier to lump everyone you dislike with the same paint of brush, and to get supporters riled up. As we have seen being done time and time again by the head of the current administration.

"When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” he said in the same speech. “They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

Of course that is how it is done, if you don't think that is how it's done in Washington then you must be naive to say the least. They have had at least two different chances in the last 2 months that the Republicans have put forward a deal that would help normalize DACA but the Dems did not nothing. They would rather say that a wall is racist or dosen't work when in reality it has been proven time and time again to stop illegal border crossings. Why do you think it's wrong for use to spend $10B on a wall a state like CA gives out $22B worth of money and services to Illegals every year?

Dems DO love Illegals espeically the ones that live in Chicago and CA. While living in CA it was proven to me time and time again that CA loves Illegals more than citizens or Legal Immigrants. It is not false at all it is in fact true that Dems love Illegal over citizens.

What you think are fallacies are actually truths and I am not making misleading statements at all. Maybe you think that they are because you live in the fece strewn city of SF but I lived in LA where over 25% of the people are Illegal. So try again with your fallacies.

Folks, the above repartee is meant for the Current Events & Hot Social Topics forum.

Let's reserve this forum for actual U.S. Immigration News, without partisan commentary by us.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
