I received a letter stating that NVC has approved the i-129F and will forward the file to Singapore Embassy/Consulate. On the letter the Case Number is already given. My fiancée is skeptical on what should she do right now. Does she has to wait for any letter from the US Embassy in Singapore prior to scheduling for interview? Also, the NO2 notice validity is from 11/02/2017 to 03/01/2018, what does it mean? Will that date affect the petition, should no letter be received from the Embassy till March 1?

We are worried that it’s almost end of Jan and she has not received any letter.  She tried to call the Embassy, but she was told that they are not honoring immigrant/immigrant visa inquiry over the phone.

Moreover, she is trying to get a Certificate of Clearance (COC), what should she do and where can she obtain this? What should she bring with her to show that she need the letter for K1 Visa application? For NBI, I guess she may have to go to Philippines to for few days to get it.

Can anyone share with us any insights in applying for K1 in Singapore, I would really be grateful.

*Post moved from K1 to Philippines for specific assistance.

Good morning! I moved your post to the regional forum because there are quite a lot of Philippine's nationals working outside of their home country and can assist you specifically on how to obtain certain documents when away from home.

Don't worry there are numerous people from the Philippines that do the K1 process in Singapore. You will not wait for any letter from the US Embassy because it won't arrive at all. As long as you have letter with her case number then you are good to go to pay the interview fee and schedule the medical. The validity means you have until March 1st to do the interview so you might as well get to stepping, you can get it extended if need be if you call the embassy.

How long have you had the NOA2, have you been waiting on a letter for this long time? You will not get a letter trust me.

She needs a COC from Singapore and a NBI from the Philippines. I will dig some for you here in a minute.

I don't know the process for the embassy in Singapore, not sure if you have to wait for a letter/notice from the embassy or what.  You really should go to the U.S. embassy in Singapore website for answers.

Thank you for your insight. If she’s getting her nbi clearance online where should she have it delivered, to US Embassy, Singapore in Napier Rd? And what about COC, she may not be able to get it since Singapore authority may ask for proof why would she need it.

Nothing gets delivered to the embassy.  It gets delivered to her and she brings it.  If she doesn't get the Singapore police certificate then no visa.  She tells the Singapore police the reason she needs it is for a US Visa.  Pretty simple reason.

YMMV

I am not sure on the process for Singapore, some embassies are find with documents being delivered directly.  You need to check with the embassy (read their instructions letter for the K-1 visa if they have it online)

For the COC it appears you will need a letter from NVC, or the embassy.

Here is the info I have from doing a quick search:

Police Certificates

Available: Yes

Fees: Processing fee is S$55.00 per application. Payment can be made by credit cards (VISA/MASTERCARD) or internet banking. In addition to the processing fee, a postage fee of S$5.00 must be included in the payment (total S$60.00) if the COC is to be mailed. Payment is non- refundable once the application is accepted.

Document Name:  Certificate of Clearance

Issuing Authority: Singapore Police Force

Special Seal(s) / Color / Format: N/A

Issuing Authority Personnel Title: N/A

Registration Criteria: All applicants must complete an online application on the Singapore Police Force eServices website and submit the application with the necessary supporting documents:

A set of applicant’s fingerprint impressions (ten prints). Applicants applying in Singapore will need to book their fingerprinting appointment though the Singapore Police Force eServices website. For application by post from overseas, the applicant must submit a set of his/her fingerprint impressions taken by a qualified Fingerprint Officer at a Police Station or an authorized office of the country he/she is now residing.

A photocopy of applicant’s valid passport (showing biodata page).

Two recent photographs measuring 3.5cm by 4.5cm.

Photocopy of document from relevant consulate/immigration authority/government bodies or other requestor to establish that the certificate is required by such authority and that a statutory declaration of no criminal conviction by the applicant is not acceptable as evidence that s/he has no criminal convictions. All documents are to be translated into English if written in other languages.

Procedure for Obtaining:

For all applicants, a form letter from the requesting/processing office (NVC, KCC, Embassy, employer  etc.)  is required to obtain a Certificate of Clearance (COC).  Such letter should specify the need for the clearance and state explicitly that "a statutory declaration of no criminal conviction by the applicant is not acceptable as evidence that he/she does not have criminal convictions".   The COC will be sent directly to the requesting/processing office.

Applicants should apply for the Certificate of Clearance online via the Singapore Police Force eServices website at: http://www.police.gov.sg/e-services/apply/certificate-of-clearance. Applicants will also be able to make payment and book for fingerprinting appointment through the eService website.

Processing time for each application is between 10 to 15 working days.

Comments:

Non-Singapore citizens requesting a Certificate of Clearance must also submit a copy of this letter after adding the names of the principal and dependent applicants as indicated, along with the checklist letter from NVC.

Please refer to http://www.police.gov.sg/e-services/apply/certificate-of-clearance for further information and updates on Certificate of Clearance from Singapore.

According to the info here you pay your visa fee and the embassy schedules your interview.    You have to pay your visa fee first, according to their instructions, they will then send you a letter THIS letter is what you need to get the COC
