  I think in response to the Alamo, yes. In many countries, and in many states, nationalism in general didn't start becoming a big thing until later in the 19th century. It just wasn't that important to daily life to many. I'm sure it was more important in Texas at that time than for many other states.

The so called southern strategy was a false narrative and the KKK would never vote for the party of Lincoln and the Democratic party is still the party of the KKK. The plantation is still alive and well and slavery masters are still around. Y'all think Hillary and other Dems aren't racist?

   I'm not posting anything I made up in this thread. What happened during the reconstruction and the southern strategy are well established historical fact, but whatever floats your boat.

It is not but the opposite. Should I post more links to read or if reading is too much for you maybe a few vids? There are a couple where the Grand poobah of the Klan Congressman and a few Senators that were Democrats made some interesting bills and laws up until the 70's when supposedly they switched and started the plantation called Great Society that was a smashing success. A POTUS that was arguably the greatest racist in that office supported that gem.

  I've read statements from many who were actually present and part of the southern strategy as it occurred. Several of them discussed their experience freely and openly in retrospect. That is good enough for me and I'll stick with that. Anyone can have their own interpretation of history, but they can not get it more accurate than the primary sources.

So facts that show otherwise will be lost on you? Understand. The KKK never left the Democratic party and are still entrenched there. They always will be but as the KKK party is now a Socialist party and they hated Communists I find it amusing they will absorb that change so yes maybe they will go to the Republican party and let slavery go finally but doubt that.

I can think of numerous examples where history has been written by those who participated and has left a very misleading story, Halder about WW2 Germany especially on the Eastern Front comes to mind.

  So you feel the conservatives who made the switch from the Democrat party to the Republican party in the late 60's are hiding something more nefarious? They weren't painting a boy scout picture of themselves. They basically admitted that they supported continuation of Jim Crow laws and states rights to continue segregation.
