05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

You missed the update. :P I have one now -- I logged in a few weeks ago to find the password had been changed and I can't figure the new one out.

 

I have used some restraint -- I was able to guess his Hulu password correctly but since I have my own account already I am not piggybacking. However I can't resist checking out what he's watching -- he recently watched all of the Four Weddings & a Funeral series as well as Daniel Deronda which I could never get through.

I watched the first 5 min of 4w+F and thought it looked like a remake of Love Actually.

I've been told I should watch it because one of the characters looks like one of my frenemies over in the UK, but since I just had to see her over a long weekend HARD PASS. I've had enough of her to last until the next wedding.

Message: using American troops to defend freedom and the self determination of a people is a waste. Defending the oil however, we can put them in harm's way for oil.
