What I realize is polls don't really mean much until the day of the election. They are fine for discussion I guess, but I wouldn't get too up or down over the results.

Agreed, but of course there are a lot of folks particularly in DC that live or die by the poll.

Of course, a deal was reached, including from start to finish the acceptance of Turkish conditions and the fact that Turkey has the right to invade Syria, to carry out ethnic cleansing of the Kurds, to eliminate the force fighting against ISIS and the murderous dictator in Damascus. And they call it a win.

Less than 2 weeks ago, Trump and Erdogan spoke on the phone. Less than 12 days later, the Middle East is in complete chaos, but it is clear who the big beneficiaries of this chaos are and it's not the United States or its former allies. The president has once again been able to strengthen the US' enemies and weaken it itself, damaging its interests and those of its dwindling allies that are wondering if they would have someone to trust next time. The answer, as far as Trump is concerned, is not unless you pay. And they call it a win.

Saudi Arabia is anxious, so Trump announces he will send troops to the kingdom. But it is unclear how this fits in with his isolationism and his desire to bring American troops home. The US President explained that the House of Saud pays all expenses. In other words, the United States Army is now a mercenary army, sent for the best price. It's a win, ya know?

Erdogan, who plans an ethnic cleansing of the Kurds and declares them his enemies at every opportunity, receives a letter from Trump and throws it in the trash, and the American response came. Vice President flies to Ankara and obtains a deal that accepts all of Turkey's claims, and the United States boasts what an incredible deal...they call it a win.

In less than two weeks, the situation in the Syria-Turkey-Iran scene changed completely. The small American force in northern Syria had to be hurriedly abandoned, which of course also forced Western allies working with the US to withdraw from the region without warning. The next step was a total withdrawal of the entire US force from northern Syria, with Russia receiving a perfect victory picture as a mercenary from Wagner's force travels what had until now been an American base. But it's a win.

The Kurds were abandoned. They are now looking for someone to protect them from Erdogan and the only option left is the Syria-Iran-Russia axis, which means strengthening Assad and Russia. The Kurds kept ISIS prisoners and their families captive, but now they will be released or run away. And with Trump boasting that he pulled out US forces because the United States is 10,000 miles from the Mediterranean arena and therefore unthreatened, it's worth reminding him Afghanistan is farther away than the Middle East, don't think that stopped anybody on 9/11...but hey, it's a win!

The US has grown tired of being the world policeman. Makes sense. Even natural. But it is important to remember - the international system that the US and its allies established at the beginning of the Cold War not only maintained world stability but brought tremendous prosperity, foremost to the United States itself. Now the US is consciously giving up its lead position. Into this void is entering Russia, which can't believe that it is now effortlessly returning to a senior position of influence in the Middle East - a status it has not had for nearly 50 years. But.....you got it, it's a win.

Next month Erdogan will be invited to the White House. After Trump complied with him, he then threatened to crush his economy and implored him not to be tough, nor to be stupid, and then praised him for the agreement, which was immediately breached, and Turkey announced that it was no agreement at all. That's what I call a win.

And when the United States needs allies in the fight against terrorist organizations in South America, the Middle East, Asia, enlistment against Russia, against China - who will exactly show up? Unfortunately, more and more fear that the one who stands by his word and alongside his allies is Vladimir Putin, not Trump.

Hey everybody, it's a win!

For Putin.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

I may well be doing it wrong, but I have been slowly losing money for the past month, after 6 months of great gains.
