Does the k1 sponsor have to be the petitioner? My boyfriends mum earns more money than my boyfriend but he is living at home until we get our own place. So his income doesn't cover the 6 People living in his house, however his mum's does. If my boyfriend is the sponsor will they still count everyone in the house or just consider me as his only dependent?

If he is financially independent, deoendents on his tax return, he needs 100% of poverty  level for household size of 1+1

If he cant meet this level, then his mother will be cosponsor and her household size would be 2+1

So regarding the forms. Would my fiancé fill out form I-35 and my fiancés mother would also fill out a separate I-35 form?

Do think the form is I134

Yes, he will always be the primary sponsor as he is the petitioner, so he does his I134.  The co sponsor completes their own I 134.

What country  are you interviewing in? My recollection from posts here are that some countries do not allow cosponsoring for K1... perhaps ask that question in a new thread ...

I'm interviewing in England, do you know if co sponsors are allowed at the Embassy here?

From my understanding my fiancé meets the 125% requirements but I was wondering if a co-sponsor would be handy just to prove we are fully supported

It is allowed in U.K.

Your fiance living with family doesn't mean they are his dependents. If he files for anyone as dependent while filing his taxes is the important part. If he is fully independent and As you said he is meeting 125%. He won't need a co-sponsor.

Hi OP:

Co-sponsorship is allowed for UK cases (they also allow for self-sponsorship too). But you need to determine if your fiancé needs one first. That means you need to look if they meet 100% or 125%. The UK has been known to accept 100%, however, remember that once you arrive in the US and marry, you will need to file for AOS - the financial responsibility is more strict and must be met at 125%.

The form that will be needed is I-134. If using a co-sponsor, only the co-sponsor will fill out this form. They will also need their latest tax transcript and or an employer letter. If you are not using a co-sponsor then they will only require the form and financial documents from the fiancé.
