Hello,

my fiance and I saw yesterday that our case has changed to "Ready." We have not receive a letter from NVC or anything like that. However, we have scheduled the medical for Feb 6th. Is it alright for us to schedule an interview now or should we wait for instructions?

Thank you.

A letter to confirm that they embassy has our application?

For London in the UK, we schedule our own interviews, they don't schedule for us.

I apologize, I assumed this was an Adjustment of Status right away.

Based off links below, looks like you'll need to wait until after medical.

My medical is Feb 6th as well! You will receive a letter in a week or 2 from the embassy (I got it about a week after my status changed to ready), then you can go ahead and book your interview.

Hmm, well we've already scheduled the interview at this rate but it's three weeks from now. I'm sure we will get the letter in a few days. Thank you, though!

The BritishExpats wiki is incorrect in several areas. They never keep up on that site.

You can book your interview,  but it's important that you know what your instructions are from the embassy website. Hopefully you have studied that. And hopefully you have the things you need to take to your medical since it comes up first...police certificate, something confirming your LND case number, health summary and vaccination record from your GP.

Forgot to say...the embassy moved to the new location last week. It is no longer at Grovenors Square like the website still says. Info on the new location https://uk.usembassy.gov/address-new-u-s-embassy-london/

If it let you schedule it on the system then you're good to go! You just need that letter as proof that the embassy has received your application for the medical. Like Wuozopo said, now you just need to make sure you have all your docs and hopefully you'll be getting some good news soon!

My status changed to ready on 22nd Jan booked medical for 30th Jan. Received letter from Embassy yesterday, have now booked interview for 8th Feb.

I would therefore hold fire before rescheduling your medical.

Hope that helps!

Hey, my case changed to "Ready" on the 8th of Jan and we've still not received a letter from the embassy. I've tried getting in touch but they don't answer questions on the phone and they haven't replied to the contact form on the website.

I've booked my medical and interview for 19th and 27th Feb, but not really sure what else I can do at this stage?!

Have you had a confirmation email from Knightsbridge and the embassy for your appointments? If so then you should be ok. From what I've read on other threads Knightsbridge seem to accept a print out of email confirmation as long as it has your details and case number on it, confirming it has been received by the embassy.

I literally just received a letter from NVC today confirming our case number and all. You'll have plenty of time!  Our case was changed to ready around two days ago also.
