I was wondering if you think it would be worth be applying for this before my NOA2 as I know it can take up to two months for this to process..

would it be wise for me to apply for it beforehand so I’m prepared?

If you are applying for K-1 visa from the US consulate in Auckland AND for NZ police clearance, I would say no.

First, you need an application form from the US consulate to email to NZ police. You get this application form during your K-1 interview.

Second, NZ clearance only took a couple hours. Within a couple hours of receiving my email, NZ police sent the police clearance to the US consulate.

This is only based on my experience from last year.

I wouldn't just yet if I were you. The current time from NOA1 to NOA2 is 6-8 months, if you check the processing times they are currently processing at June 1st. The police clearance Is only valid for 6 months. By the time you're through with NVC which could take up to 2 months, the clearance will be void. It only takes a short while to get the clearance.

From a previous filer she had to sign a form at the consulate on her interview day to release her police clearance to the embassy.
